A sweet couple wanted to adopt a puppy and knew they had to help their frisky bulldog Shug understand that a new friend was on the way. So they added a toy dog to their home as a placeholder for the real thing. But it was when Shug smelled the new pup on Mom’s shirt that he truly got a whiff of what was to come.     That was pure magic. Shug and Bruce and even Newton seem to be the perfect combo. Newton is probably happy to have the dogs absorbed in each other, so he can sleep in peace.

      YES! It was rather clever of them to get Shug used to the name – it seemed to help the transition.
