Welcome to the Cutetropolis Museum of Contemporary Art, where we are pleased to unveil our latest acquisition in our Photography collection: Cat Hair (and Cat) on Pillow by Muppet2171. In this still life, the photographer explores the duality at the core of Cat nature: While Cat may be transitory and impermanent in any given space, Cat Hair is forever.

Love the composition of the photo, great use of both complementary and contrasting colors to make the subject stand out. Said subject I don’t think appreciates your artistic vision. And oh yeah, the duality of cats, even though they may not be around their hair finds its way everywhere and is almost impossible to remove. Bam Bam has taken up residence on my bed and the evidence is going to be there for a while. I think he enjoys the softness of the mattress and the comforter. Plus the duvet is part velvet which must feel great when he rolls around. Best part is it’s nowhere near his sister Pebbles. They get along but once in awhile a cat just needs his space, man.
AJ, I think it’s important to be honest here. Bam Bam’s fur is going to be with you forever.
I brought home some dry-cleaning and found my cat’s hair in the unopened bag.
This is what I’m talking about.
Listen, NO cat sheds like a mini-lop! It’s too bad their fur isn’t long enough to make into yarn🙄. I swear he gets 3 months of the year he is NOT shedding. My house is always full of soft, fluffy fur!
I got my first vaccine shot last Thursday. Hurt a lot more than I thought it would. Couldn’t lift my arm above the elbow, and it was warm and slightly swollen. Sheesh! But at least I’m halfway there!👍🏼
Is the cat named Teller? I know we’ve seen him several times and he is so lovely—shedding or not!
YES! With rabbits comes the joy of fur-lined ceiling fan blades. Fergus (Fur-Gus?) doesn’t shed the same as all my other rabbits so Life has been easier. But now he’s decided to pee and poop just outside of his litter. Wha’?????
Love the pussycat odalisque!
Murray, I have washable incontinence pads for such accidents. My oldest girl sometimes misses the mark, as it were, and these pads have been lifesavers. First got them when George started peeing on the bed, and after he stopped they’re useful for old kitties.
Hmmm, thanks, that sounds like a good idea. Where did you get them?
Amazon, in a 6-pack. If you don’t like using Amazon, try a medical supply store. They’re meant for people, but they work great for critters too!
Puppy training pads would also do the trick if you don’t want to wash stuff.
Ah, so these aren’t something the animal wears! I did wonder. I have old towels spread out – that’s usually what he pees on. But, really, right next to his litter, just a short hop from it! Grrrr. I may still try as you suggest since they have the waterproof barrier, no doubt. Thanks so much for the info.
They make washable pet pads, too. Many pet stores carry them.
Thanks for the info! ❤️
I use the puppy training pads and the slick junk mail that I can’t recycle.
When I brought home a new kitten it kicked off a dominance battle that still continues even though I’m down to one cat.
I had my first vaccination on Wednesday. Virtually painless, no swelling or discomfort, no problems…until Thursday morning, when the nano-chip reached my brain and I felt compelled to hand over my life savings and the deeds of my house to the Illumunati/Reptilian rulers of the world. Apart from that it was a doddle! And rather than pay two taxi fares I took the bus home, the first time I’ve been on a bus in over a year AND the first time I’ve paid a bus fare by card. Finally I feel as though I’m living in the 21st century!
In other news, I’m waiting for the washing machine repairman because my appliance is making a strange and terrifying noise during the spin cycle. This may or may not be connected to the shredding of a favourite pair of jeans in last week’s wash.
Tsk tsk Alice. Don’t you know you must don your tin foil hat to protect against unwanted brain wave infiltration?
Sounds to me like you’ve got knives in the washer. I know those sounds well. Mine is nearly 20 years old and has been through the mill, since I also scour fleeces in it.
Washing machines can be evil beings, Alice. When my previous one died in 2016, he decided to capture my clothes inside and keep them as a farewell present. I told him that none of these clothes would fit him anyway, so be nice and give them back. After an hour of tug o’ war or more like desperate attempts to open it, he gave in in the end.
Well, the verdict is in. My appliance has turned up its toes and joined the choir invisible; it is an ex-washer. New one coming on Monday.
Sure it’s not just pinin’ for the fjords?
Are you sure it’s not pining for the fjords?
Congratulations on being able to get a new one so quickly!
I wondered how long it would take…
I bet your bunny’s fur could be blended with longer fibers to make yarn. Angora isn’t very long, and it makes yarn. Of course, angora yarn never stops shedding!
When I was a teenager I got an angora sweater as a present. I loved it. I wore it for the first time when I had to write an important English test. The guy sitting next to me kept coming closer and closer to peek at my paper, and he was getting more and more furry as the time passed. As he was a handsome one, I felt totally embarrassed making him furry, but hey he came closer, not me.
Ems, the combination of flirting, cheating, and fur must have been irresistible!
How are you doing this week?
I swore off angora yarn–even blends–after I knitted a particular dark blue sweater and wore it to work. Was sitting in a meeting, doing nothing, and had to keep picking fuzz out of my mouth.
Thank you, a lot better than last week!
Finally problems are on the soluble scale.
I could sleep 2 proper nights and ate a lil’ better and I am proud to say I even gained weight. (from 46 to 48 kg, or 100 to 105lbs)
Good news!
That is so good to hear, Ems!
Muppet, is this Penny or Teller? I’m guessing Teller, because Penny doesn’t sit still for photos and Teller luuuvvvvs the camera.
Congrats on vaccinations! I haven’t heard anything about mine, but the new schedule promises are quite exciting. And my stimulus money showed up in my account yesterday, quite unexpectedly! President Biden signs the bill Thursday and I’ve got money Friday–woooo!
It was a nice end to a very hectic week. Unfortunately, I’ve got to work a little over the weekend, so that Monday’s video is actually ready for Monday. But first I’m going to relax, play with my kitkats, and make lots of food because we’re supposed to get snowed in this weekend. I’m also taking a deep dive into my finances, to get a clearer idea of what is/isn’t possible for buying a new house closer to work. Wish me luck!
Hugs to you all.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you to find the possibility for a new house, you’d so deserve it!
It is actually Penny. While she’s not fond of having her photo taken, if she’s comfy enough, she’ll sit still for it. And that is a very soft pillow. 😁
Another Caturday…we’re doing dinner for my brother’s birthday tomorrow (something we never did get to do last year). Other than that, no plans. Just watched Grey’s Anatomy from Thursday, now watching A Million Little Things, and maybe later I’ll watch Cherry on Apple TV (I got a free year when I bought my phone in November; may as well take advantage of it). Maybe some laundry and stuff.
My parents got both their shots but they still have about a week before they will be considered fully vaccinated (the second was a week ago Thursday). I will apparently be eligible at the end of the month as someone in warehousing and logistics (March 29; unless they are going to differentiate between actual warehouse staff and office workers who can work from home, which I doubt).
I always say that the 3 little words every woman wants to hear are not “I love you” but “you were right.” It’s become a joke at the office. Or at least it was, when everybody was at the office. Had to go down yesterday and it felt like a ghost town.
Meanwhile, getting my vaccine on Wednesday! Not sure which one yet. The place I’m going is huge and is getting all 3 of them in stock. Hoping for the single J&J dose because they’re all the way across town, but I’ll get whatever they have on hand that day.
I’m scheduled for my first shot tomorrow. It happens to be Pfizer, which is the one I would choose if I could. Yay science!
I’m just trying to get registered! Virginia has opened vaccinations to under 65, non-essentials. And online sign-up doesn’t work!! I don’t remember ever wanting a shot (or two) so badly!!!
It’s a weird feeling, isn’t it! Good luck!
If it’s like e everyplace else, it’s something you have to keep at. In New York there’s always new tips about where to try what websites, what phone numbers. Keep trying! It will happen! The vaccines are becoming more available!
Just found out that my cousin’s soon-to-be fourth grandchild (due in the fall) is a girl.
And they did a gender reveal without setting anything on fire! (It involved pink tissue paper confetti, apparently.)
Had my first vaccine shot today. For NYC people – R & B’s Mom and anyone else in NYC reading, I went to the Javits Center and I highly recommend it. It’s really well run and pleasant.
Did you dress up? I love that people are pulling out the long gowns and sparkly clutch purses as “This is the Big Event of their Year.”
Wow! No! I didn’t see anyone in that mode. Is this happening in NYC? Or where?
OMG, I just googled this. Fantastic! 👗
