A quack squad fights pests the natural way
To stop snails from damaging the grapes, this South African vineyard unleashes Nature’s perfect pesticide: An army of over 1,000 ducks, tended by loyal duck farmer who loves them like a mother. (via Murray C.)
So much…
I canβt…

Is this the family business, Duckie?

OK NOW I know what I want to be when I grow up – leader of a Duck Squad!
The Houston Arboretum was using herbicides to control invasive species until they found that goats do a better job and are not dangerous to the environment. π
The goats are coming back to Riverside Park in NYC soon β¦ rumor hath it.
I used to live right next door to that park. Never saw any goats, unfortunately. This was in the late 80s/early 90s.
So. many. ducks. Love the ducks on parade each morning. I applaud the winery for finding a natural solution to the pest problem. I just wonder if what comes out the other end is used as fertilizer??
And what could they name the wine that came from the grapes were fertilized with this?? π
Ummm β¦ Chilly Bird?
The trick with goats is they eat everything! The good part of that is they eat poison ivy. I had a poison ivy problem but not enough to employ goats. I did get a Sufi named Umar the Poison Ivy Guy and his gang pulled it all out. I almost wish I had a snail problem so I could employ ducks! I thought the video had great production values! And, it had DUCKS!
Its like the Peabody on steroids.
Not sure but I’d love to hear what a wine-taster would have to say…….”Notes of Raspberries, warm floral tones and a hint of duck poop”.
I believe there was once an Australian wine that had cat piss either in the name or the description of the bouquet!! And this was a complimentary characteristic apparently! πΈπΈ
It must have been the name. Nobody would want a wine with a cat piss bouquet. Nobody.
Indeed. ^
THIS WAS SOOOO WONDERFUL!!!!
I’m in love.
