In a thoughtful attempt to give their rabbits a sporting chance at escape, the humans set up their cage with the latch on the inside. It’s scary how fast one rabbit figures it out and leads the pair to freedom.

Buns are not dumb, some maybe not quite as quick to catch on, as others. Also that latch didn’t seem very long. The one bun bun enjoyed the freedom of hopping around. Escape is one of their favorite games. With the bun buns I’ve had, they’d love it when I blocked their normal pathways with boxes, pillows, gates, etc… if they got through, they would turn around and go back and do it again. If I needed to close or connect the portable type of fencing I had around the house, I always bought the clips, like the kind on the end of a leash.
Silly humans, the latch goes on the outside, lol. Looks like an inside job, I swear warden I didn’t do it, I was framed I tell ya, framed! Very cute buns and I love their owners giggling in the background, watching their ‘escape’apades. We now have to keep an eye on Bam Bam, he figured out the ‘weak’ spot in the xpen set up for them outside. He’s now escaped at least twice, including once where he was outside all night, and another time he led Pebbles down the path of criminality. After he was wrangled back inside the pen yesterday afternoon, he spent the rest of the day sulking under furniture. Poor kitty, sorry to corral your freedom but we’re just trying to keep you safe. Well off to my mystery car ride. I’ll let everyone know where we ended up.
Seriously, they must have left the latch on the inside on purpose! It looks like the first bun remembered from other times. That bun looks way too happy!😜
I have had bun escapes from many gates/hatches. Some have even located a way out that I thought they’d never use. My current bun has jumped his gate so many times I now put a chair in front of it when I’m gone. One time I came home from work to find him napping under the kitchen table! (He has a big room—he just wanted OUT.)
This is adorable.
And then I looked at the comments and confirmed that people on youtube will turn even the most benign video into an argument about something almost completely unrelated. (About cats, in this case.)
And I raise you…
Didn’t realize that bunbuns love intellectual puzzles. These two, and the one in Allein’s video, are very cute.
Speaking of buns, how is Vera?
Loving how the bunny ears flippety flopped as he shook the fencing.
Back from my magical mystery tour. We ended going up and over the mountains to Borrego Springs, east of San Diego. Not a bad ride plus had a pie stop in Julien. Tried apple cherry crumble which was yummy. Was back home by mid-afternoon, then just relaxed with a movie.
