In the event of a water landing, your corgi may be used as a flotation device. (via Allein S.)
I haven’t been swimming in forever, but I think I should get a corgi flotation device, just in case. We did get a lot of rain last night…
Tilly the accidental sheepdog was on the No Sweat News last week…it’s nice to have a break from stupid criminal stories once in a while.
My mom has been using up the big (recently-opened) bag of cat food by putting a dish out on the back deck each evening. Last night they got a skunk. 🦨
How’s the leg today?
It was bad this morning; my back is bothering me more since I got to work. I just got back from the doctor; she sent over a prescription for naproxen (to take twice a day) and a muscle relaxer (to take at night), which I will have to pick up on my way home, and gave me some exercises to do. If I’m not better in a few weeks she said she’ll send me to physical therapy.
Ok so not great news. But not that other thing so mostly good news.
Could definitely be worse. But at least now I know some exercises I can do without worrying too much if I’m making things worse. Hopefully the drugs help me sleep tonight.
Any suggestions about heat or ice? Thinking that a hot shower couldn’t hurt.
I commented that the hot seat of my car felt good when I was leaving to go there (since it had been sitting in the sun for a few hours) and she said heat is good. I have one of those microwaveable neck wraps (it’s also a leopard that supposedly smells like lavender) so I’ll try that. I also have a massage pillow which heats up; I’ve used it before and the heat is nice but I don’t know if the massage part is a good idea or not. (Maybe just the vibration setting, which is gentler.)
Lavender scented leopard.
Sounds like just the thing.
Therapeutic advice but no specific diagnosis?
She called it a sprain.
I’m glad there’s a treatment plan for you.
Have you tried arnica gel? I used it on my bum elbow last summer and it helped.
Never tried it.
Now I’m just looking at the pill bottles and trying to tell my brain to stop it and just take them. And go to bed.
Oh – that smarts. Sprained ankles heal, so….? Fingers crossed.
Oh good, at least you got a diagnosis. Hope you feel better soon.
Love the Anya and Munchie story. Thank you, Allein.
I need a dog who wants to help with the household chores…
So do I. Anya is glorious. And her relationship with little Munchie is beautiful.
Great links today. I think Anya is not fulfilling her potential – clearly a problem-solver and there are a lot of problems in the world. Maybe Anys should run for office!
So happy for Tilly and his family.
Cinderblock kitten is gorgeous. Why did they not name her Cinderella, though?!
OMG the floating corgi butt. Good buoy indeed!
Hee hee good buoy 🤣
That cracked me up too.
Cinderella, that would’ve been perfect.
All great links today. Anya and Munchie melted my heart. That dog does more chores around the house than some family members. Glad Tilley was found and is back with her family. Grumpy kitty is having a the best senior life. If I didn’t think the 2 oldsters in my house would try to escape, I’d give the leash and adventures a try. Mouse village guy has way too much time on his hands but it is so adorable. So cute that he made a mini version of himself and placed it amongst the houses.
“You are Number Six.” Mike, THANK YOU for the callback to The Prisoner. A few years ago we visited Portmeirion in Wales, where the show was filmed. I cherish the button I bought there; it shows the pennyfarthing bicycle with a big red 6 in the wheel.
We went to Portmeirion 30 or so years ago and stayed overnight in a room at the top of the cliff. As big The Prisoner fans we initially went to see The Village in real life but the place was so beautiful with all those lovely colourful flowers and there was not many people when we were there so it was very peaceful. I wish I was rich enough to spend a whole month there.
Portmeirion is on my bucket list!
Mackenzie the grumpy cat has such a great life! Her adventure coats are splendid and she has a wonderful mom.
