Shall We Dance?

Caramel the cat and puppy playmate Arnold have an entertaining floor routine. At times they seem to move in unison. After skittering around the floor, the pair stop dancing around the ring and get down to some serious wrassling! (via Murray C.)

They call that wrassling?? Man, things are just so fake today. Anyone else notice that puppy is a little bug eyed, reminds me a fuzzy Marty Feldman.

From the side, Arnold looks like he has a lion’s mane. He better watch out for the tiger in the last post.

It’s cute — I don’t mean to miss the point — but am I the only one who can’t tell if that’s indoors or outdoors? If it’s outdoors, it’s one of those patio living rooms that might as well be indoors — fancy flooring, upholstered sofa. If it’s indoors, is that green stuff artificial turf? The sill at the sliding door is raised, that seems like outdoors. The dog bed is soft fabric, would not do well in the rain, but might only be moved outdoors when the dog’s there. But that stone flooring looks too slick for outdoors. And if it’s outdoors, where do the stairs go? I’d believe either option, but I have no idea which way to bet.

I think it’s indoors, or at least not open to the elements. It’s definitely artificial turf. At about 15 seconds, Caramel catches her claws on it and pulls the edge up off the floor for a second. The doors are mirrored, too, so I was thinking it’s a closet.

I see the turf edge come up now that you mentioned it; thanks. What could that turf be for? (My first idea was a place where a housebroken dog would feel comfortable pooping during bad weather, but that’d be a nightmare to clean; the reason people put down papers is that papers can be discarded.) Good point about the mirrored doors, but they seem sturdy for closet doors; looks like an actual sliding glass door to me. The whole space seems inexplicable.

I think it’s a finished basement there’s an office type chair and a folding chair at 0:58 and Allien is right those are mirror closet doors and you can see stairs going up at 1:42

Basement would explain the stairs and maybe the raised sill at the doors (if it’s in case the floor floods). I live where there are no basements, so I tend to forget they exist. It’s still a weird space. Nice, but a weird combination of elements.

Reminds me of my cat and dog growing up.

They loved putting on exhibitions whenever we had company. The dog would bite her fur but never her skin and she’d never use her claws.
