I do not like bats at all, but this, this is cute.
I have never seen, or heard of, anything cooler than a necklace made of baby bats. However, if you go to the comments on Reddit, you’ll find that a significant number of people thought the baby bats were dead. So I guess it’s amazing how well things are going on the planet considering how people’s brains work.
I’ve learned that no matter how cute something is, someone will manage to turn the comments into an argument of some sort.

This was originally said of twitter, but it’s true of a lot of the internet: it’s all about making up a guy in your head, convincing yourself they’re real, and getting mad at them.
Hmmmm. I’ve never seen that written anywhere before. I agree with you – it does seem like a good explanation for a lot of the internet. I guess when you don’t have to deal with a real live person, you can just make up whatever and go away once you’ve had your say and there are no consequences for you.
It’s also a decent description of how mRNA vaccines work. :V

I’m glad other people are willing to take care of bats, because they creep me out. It’s the combo of mouse + leather jacket that I can’t handle.
This is the cutest!!!! The babies must be loving the portable furnace they’re attached to and the furnace doesn’t seem to mind at all either. They look so soft too, must feel like velvet or velour.
I can’t understand why bats are so disliked. They’re basically mice in leather jackets.

I teach my students about bats every year. Even if you don’t think they’re cute, they are incredible in all that they do for us! There are tons of plants only pollinated by bats! And their bug-destroying aspect is insane! There really are many species of bats that are cute!
If you aren’t familiar with Bat World Sanctuary, I encourage you to visit their web site. They have live bat cams where you can watch the bats every night. Some bats are very funny, and also very loving and accepting of each other. BWS is a wonderful place to hang out. I’ve run into people who are deathly afraid of birds. Like, all birds: cockatiels, crows, robins, those wrens that are ping pong balls with a beak. If something flies anywhere near them, they start screaming because it either is or might be a bird.
