As Fizzwick slowly, timidly peered out from the wide-brimmed Stetson and watched the rampaging bull chase rodeo clowns to the delighted roar of the crowd, the reality of this cosmic mishap began to wash over him, and he realized that somewhere, at a child’s birthday party in upstate Connecticut, Mystico the Magnificent was attempting to pull an angry 1,500-pound Brahman bull from his top hat.

Even as a child, when reading a comic or watching a cartoon, I didn’t like seeing a rabbit being pulled by its ears, out of the magician’s hat. And I liked watching Bugs Bunny out smart Elmer Fudd. So Fizzwick will be better off watching the rodeo clowns distract a bull than being terrorized by yelling children at a birthday party. Or better yet, I’ll just take the stetson and Fizzwick back to my place.
This needs to be expanded into a short story – I’m picturing a collaboration between Stephen King and Garrison Keillor.
And add Mike, to the short story and it would he a very interesting read. Garrison Keillor describing the people and setting, Stephen King and Cutetropolis Mike, telling about Fizzwick being in the wrong hat and a rampaging bull being at a childrens party. All because of an cute, innocent, wittle bunny.
Actually, that sounds like a really good kids’ story! Get writing someone!
Does it make me a bad person that I would love to see Mystico the Magnificent trying to pull an angry 1,500-pound Brahman bull from his top hat?
No.
😛
No. I want to see it too.
Great storyline, as always, Mike!
Oh how I loved those cartoons, my fave were with Sherman and Mr Peabody and of course being Canadian I loved Dudley Do-Right.
I loved them too! To this day I have an emotional reaction.
What a cutiepie! And visibly soft! Also very smart to choose the rodeo over a kids’ party.
My backyard (well, neighbor’s backyard) kitties are letting me get just a leetle bit closer. Or else they were so hungry, they just wanted to eat. I’ve had to explain to them that room service will run on a different schedule on weekends, when I’m not leaving the house at 6 am. One of the black kittens is very bold and doesn’t run under the shed when I come out. This one will soon fall victim to the Accio Kitten Wand, I hope. Then it will tell all the others that I’m not dangerous.
Love Fizzwick and he’s definitely much better off at the rodeo. A party full of children hyped up sugar?? Being pulled out by my sensitive earsies? Uhm, no thanks. I’d rather take my chances on the bulls. And if the rodeo gets too much he can comma overa my house (who else remembers that song?) and sit in any of my lovely chapeaus while I feed him a selection of yummy veg.
This song?
Oh yes!!! She was an amazing singer. Her and Julie London.
Apparently she detested this song at first and didn’t want to record it!
Wonderful, imaginative story, Mike!👍🏼😊
Don’t approve of rabbits out of a hat—the whole by-the-ear thing—but this cutie can come and get pets anytime!💙
One of the absolute best descriptions EvEr!! Mike you rock.
