Oh spot on, that is me. Except that I’m not nearly as cute as this adorable, cute bun with the slightly scrunched face. Maybe if I could gently bop that fuzzy nose or kiss that face, the bun would remember what it forgot to think about.
Our daughter, who lives about three hours from us, had a business meeting in town here and stayed the night. She sadly remarked how oddly strange it was to not have any pets or pet barriers, in our house, in more than 30 plus years.

      Hugs, Luv Bunny.

Are you thinking about getting some pets?

      • Luv Bunny July 25, 2021 / 12:11 pm

Not in the immediate future. I want to be able to visit family I haven’t seen for awhile, if covid doesn’t interfere. Plus I’m still very torn up over putting both my buns to sleep, I miss them terribly. At this time (never say never) I don’t think I can deal with that again. My wonderful husband says he is ready for another pet when and if I am.
I smile and get teary with all of you other peeps, when you talk about the joys, struggles or sadness, you and your pets are going through.

I hear you. Now that Josephine’s health status is so uncertain, I’m wondering why I keep loving these furballs who will have to leave me long before I’m ready to let them go.

Have you thought about fostering, like AJ does? Seems as though she’s got a perfect system for taking critters as it suits her schedule and their needs, then preparing them for the next stage in their lives.

          • Luv Bunny July 25, 2021 / 1:59 pm

I have fostered twice, and failed once.

I wanted to google something the other night but when I opened a new tab I completely forgot what it was. Remembered a few minutes later but I was doing something else, and when I went back to the new tab I forgot again. Still hasn’t come back.

    • AJ July 25, 2021 / 9:24 am

I think we’ve all been there. Me multiple times. Per day. What sometimes works for me is to keep repeating (silently!) what it is I want to lookup and that usually keeps at the front of the brain til I can get to the computer or a new tab to do my search. God help me if someone decide to talk to me or …. Ooh shiny .. something distracts me. I’m with everyone else that I don’t half as cute as adorable bun bun when I’m trying to remember. Scrunched face and muttering to oneself generally makes people take a step back from you.

If I can write it down I’ll remember.
It’s then finding the piece of paper that becomes the problem!😵‍💫

      • Debg July 25, 2021 / 11:15 am

I use the silent repetition trick too. Sometimes it even works!

I have a small dry erase board on the refrigerator door, I write what I must not forget on it and since I visit said refrigerator multiple times during the day it seems to work most of the time. The trick is to not forget to write on it what you must not forget.

    This explains the whole process

    • allein 🐾 July 25, 2021 / 9:48 am

      Sounds about right…

    • 6rabbits July 25, 2021 / 10:16 am

My life as a teacher, clearly.

    • Laura July 25, 2021 / 4:56 pm

Oh, that is so me, especially the last bit! I take a medicine that makes me need to pee more than I normally would, so the interruptions to stop in the bathroom wipe out about 3/4 of what I’m trying to remember to tell my hubby. He has the same problem; he has started writing stuff down so he can remember it long enough to tell me, too. We’re a pair, multiple times a day trying to think of what we were trying to remember to not forget. It doesn’t help that the needing-to-pee interruptions just increase the short-term memory loss!

Put a message board in the bathroom?

Bunny’s belly resembles a nicely toasted marshmallow.

    • Debg July 25, 2021 / 11:15 am

It really does. I’d have to huff it to make sure it wasn’t a marshmallow.

  5. 6rabbits July 25, 2021 / 10:09 am

No, no, no! He wouldn’t be thinking lettuce he would be thinking BANANA, or at least blueberries or kale!

  6. Debg July 25, 2021 / 11:18 am

Maybe this bun is late for a very important date but can’t remember where it is.

One of my coworkers has gotten very used to see me come out of my office towards her desk, and then just stand there with this look on my face while I try to remember what I had to do. Sadly, my confused look doesn’t have quite the appeal of this precious bun. She will love seeing this post tomorrow.

Anyone else forget how to swallow sometimes?

    • AJ July 25, 2021 / 3:39 pm

I thought it was just me!

    • Laura July 25, 2021 / 4:59 pm

Definitely! Do you find yourself sitting there with a mouthful or food or drink and wondering why you haven’t swallowed it, too?

      • Duckie 🐥 July 25, 2021 / 5:27 pm

Usually it’s with meds that are rapidly dissolving in my mouthful of ice tea, and some of those things are definitely NOT meant to taste on the way down.

As a further example, I was looking at the picture of the forgetful goat above, and I thought it was so funny I should send it in to Cutetropolis!

    i think this belongs here:

If the link doesn’t work, it’s a tattoo with AD/HD in the style of AC/DC and underneath it says “Highway to oh look a squirrel”

    • Debg July 25, 2021 / 1:33 pm

I will never get a tattoo, but I’d love to have this one as a temporary tat!

      • Duckie 🐥 July 25, 2021 / 5:27 pm

        T shirt?

  9. dubravkamcvmd July 25, 2021 / 12:12 pm

I’m happy (sort of) to read about everyone else’s problems remembering what they’re doing. I’ve started forgetting to look at my list of things I have to do every day.

    • Debg July 25, 2021 / 1:29 pm

That’s why I give my list to Alexa! Middle age is all about learning to manage your failing memory.

      • Dubravkamcvmd July 25, 2021 / 8:54 pm

Unfortunately Alexa wouldn’t help with my forgetting names. That’s the worst.
