It’s another scorching summer day at Maru’s house, but Maru, Hana and Kitten Miri still want to explore the outdoors. To cool them off when they return, Mom creates a special ice bed, but only Maru warms up to the idea.
Perhaps a fan will get a less chilly reception, particularly if it has a string toy. Miri finds the string intriguing, but only Maru can handle the full gale force.
So it’s time once again to break out the excellent breathable box, into which Maru can pour his overheated body.
There’s a bird in the house! OK, it’s a toy one, but it still gets Miri to start chirping.

Only had time for Kitten Miri’s bird hunting–and it slayed me. Her intent hunting face! Her sounds of disappointment! And Maru’s look of “What just happened here?”
Maru is strong and brave – he conquers the cold and the wind. Kitten Miri truly believed in the bird. When she caught it she carried it off to a lair so she could toy with it and eat it, like the proudly successful hunter that she is.
