Due to certain irregular results not detected during product testing, the Happi-Hoppi Rabbit Food company has recalled its new pumpkin spice flavor.
This is even worse than the blueberry incident, Andrew Y.

That was a clever way to decorate a pumpkin. I’ll gladly take the bun that the Happi-Hoppi Rabbit company used for their model. I wouldn’t do anything to suggest it being related to food. Only food for the cutie to eat.

That’s a great pumpkin, and very cute decorations, although suggesting that that adorable bun is related to food in any way but eating it is definitely worth a product recall!

Peeps, I had some sad family news yesterday and, in the face of my dad’s illness and my Josephine-kitty’s woes, I could really use some positive energy. Can you direct some good thoughts my way? J and I go to the vet a week from Tuesday to see how her treatment is going.

I don’t recall the health issues with your dad but I hope he can regain his health. It’s hard to have a parent or child so ill. As for Josephine, I hope her treatments will help her and she shows improvement, even before the vet appointment.

How are the kitkats doing? My ferals are now willing to jump over the fence to eat. I’m trying to get everybody to move into my yard, where it will be easier to tame them.

Re: kitty belly rubs. Every cat I have tried to give a belly rub to has tried to remove my hand (or at least induce bleeding from said hand). Dog belly rubs are safer, in my experience.
All my cats–even my feral–adore belly rubs. They seek them out and are never happier. My cats are weird, I guess!

My dad has terminal prostate cancer, diagnosed a few months ago. Since it’s the slow kind, they thought he could take meds for possibly years, along with other treatments for his pain. But their efforts have had nasty side-effects, and he has other health problems, so he’s opted to discontinue treatment and go into a hospice program. Maybe 6 months to a year. He’s had severe chronic pain in his back for over a decade, so I can only hope they’re giving him good drugs.
Sadly, that’s not even the worst family news from the weekend. I’m just trying to hang on. All your good wishes help a lot.

DebG, I am so sorry to hear of your troubles, and those of your family. It sounds like your dad has made his wishes well known, which is huge. He is lucky to have a family that also respects those wishes, and I hope you and the rest of his loved ones are getting the support you need. My mom is in hospice herself right now with dementia, and it is comforting to know she can stay at home and not deal with hospitals and nursing homes, etc. I hope you and your dad find the same to be true for yourselves.
