Any day that starts with Fiona will be a good day. She’s the perfect hippo. And so graceful.

Such smart critters today! The feline Lassie deserves his own show–what a hero! And the clever goose–I had no idea that birds understood physics.

Snake would have scared me out of grocery shopping forever.

Feline Lassie deserves a medal and for a minute I thought mama racoon was going to take the phone as well as her baby LOL!
I do believe it’s real but the guy is right his photo looks like it’s Photoshopped.
Ah life in Australia … 😳
I hope Fiona never stops doing water ballet!

I’m sorry but I really having a hard time believing the goose picture is real. Do geese have such flexible necks to even attempt that type of maneuver? Other links are a good way to end the week. And props to the owner of the house that allowed his/her ceiling to be dismantled to allow racoon kits to be extracted. It would have been funny if mama had taken the phone along with the baby. The baby monkey made my heart swoon, especially watching him drink from the bottle. Lucky for the snake, the women who found him was a snake handler most other people wouldn’t have been so understanding.

I agree the owner of the house that allowed a breach in their ceiling was noble. Although – sitting around waiting for the baby raccoons to die overhead would not have been pleasant.

Heck, works for me. If I were a goose lady I’d date him.

I went blackberry picking in New Jersey two weeks ago. Saw a wonderful bunch of perfectly ripe berry lurking deep in the bush, started to stick my hand in when my depth-of-field vision focused on the funny squiggly white thing curling up around a stalk. !!! Did not get the berries, turned my little self around, and found a different spot, far away, with lots of berries on the outside of the bush to pick.

Poor Tara, wonder what it was that was perched on the bush. At least, you found a different patch to pick from.

Years ago, when he was in HS, hubby lived in Western MA and helped out at a farmstand picking vegetables from the fields. One foggy morning, he went out to pick corn and heard some rustling. He thought it was one of his brothers messing with him so goes to investigate and weelll, he saw a bare bear’s butt. Talk about feets don’t fail me now!! Ran back to the farmhouse and told the owner, owner grabbed his gun but when they got back to the spot, bear had wandered off. After that, pickers went out in twos for safety reasons.

Snake in the grocery store? Maybe just another day in Oz….at least it was non-venomous and it said hello to the right lady.

Now the snake in the berry patch? Very common in the US, at least here in Virginia. Mama used to borrow my winter boots to go berry picking just to be on the safe side. And she wasn’t really that scared of snakes – she decapitated a copperhead with a shrubbery lopper when it tried to bite my brother when they were clipping weeds.
