My Life Among the Chicken People

My first encounter with the tribe came within a few days of our arrival in the verdant Backyard region that they called home. They were wary at first, but at last a tribal elder and I were able to exchange greetings, a breakthrough moment that I confess caused me to briefly abandon my sense of scientific detachment.
