Right? How do you mention the snood and not include a picture?!?!

It’s like the person was on the phone, SAYING snood just to tease us.

The LA Times article about kitten fostering was terrific, very informative, made me think about doing it. Cole definitely saw the optical illusion. The dogs reacting to hearing words referring to their favorite things was so cute

Happy to have some cuties to keep me company today. Sitting around on jury duty. They wanted people to serve on a 4 month trial and I’m like uhmm … No. Fingers crossed they accept my medical exemption for not wanting to serve on it. Hope Duckie is doing better today.
I’ve only had to go to jury duty once; got called up for one actual selection, and my number was still far enough down that they picked the jury before they even got to me. Other than that I spent the day in the courthouse basement, watching movies (they had a bunch of DVDs down there) and reading a book (and even got to go home for lunch, since I was only a couple miles away). At the end of the day they said those who didn’t get picked didn’t have to come back. So I called my boss and she put me back on the schedule for the week.
Twice I’ve gotten notice for the county I had just moved out of, and the other time I was supposed to go, we had a blizzard (which turned out to be more of a heavy sleet storm) so the courthouse was closed, and my group got pushed back to the next day, then put on standby, then they just skipped over us and moved on to the next group. (And that was after having deferred from a couple months before because it fell during a bad week for me to be out of work.) I spent the day at my parents’ (I went there in case the power went out; at least they have a fireplace) checking the jury page on my computer and listening to birds taking shelter in the overhang outside my window.
My mom once got out of jury duty by citing her kid (me) home sick from school. I don’t think she mentioned that I was 16 with a relatively mild cold and was perfectly capable of taking care of myself. (I also don’t think she was really trying to get out of it, but when they heard that they told her she could go.)

I’ve done jury duty in 4 different states and in every place, it is so boring. At least it gives me a break from work for a day. Never been picked for a trial so most of the time it’s either one day and done or call in for a week. We’re still waiting for them to call up jurors to the courtrooms. Only one group was called so far and it’s almost lunch time. I think it’s going to be a long day.

I got a jury duty notice *right* before the pandemic lockdown started, so needless to say in-person court was abolished, and I haven’t gotten another summons. Yet. Fingers crossed — with my bad back, there’s no way I could handle sitting in a courtroom. It’ll just be a hassle avoiding it, and I really wish I didn’t have to since I’d like to serve on a jury once — for a very short trial!
Tiny puppy testing his tiny teefies!
I would let him chew on me.
I would love to see Lou in her winter snood.
NeNe and Nico made me swoon from the sheer cuteness.
Dogs on the phone!!!!

My mom did it once; it was a robbery trial, I think, and only one day. She said it was interesting.
