If you want to know what your boss does all day, reader JM and her dog Dusty offers a clue: Keeping an eye on you, peon.
It took me forever but I finally found these pictures of Dusty supervising the combining of the corn (the field next door). This was a couple of years back and the combines started working on the fields again this week so we’ll just have to see.
As you can see, he takes his supervising work very, very seriously.
I’ve had bosses like this. Not as cute, though.
Dusty is a very beautiful dog. Those pics are practically glamour shots. Off the farm and onto Hollywood, Dusty!
Maybe he can star in a movie about the Dust Bowl…
I used to have a boss that would hover at my shoulder to ensure I was doing my work the right way. Hate to be stereotypical but he was an Indian who thought women couldn’t do anything unless a man was there to tell them what to do and how. Beyond irrating, thankfully I had already given notice (for other reasons) and only had to deal with him for a few weeks.
This “boss” could definitely stand beside me and surpervise my “work”, might be too distracted by wanting to give pet pets to get anything done. Dusty looks so soft and floofy.
This is my boy! Dusty has always been a little bit of a gearhead. But during harvesting, he is in heaven. Combine harvesters! Massive tractors pulling grain carts!! Even semi trucks! A total highlight of his year 🙂
What a beautiful pup! Does he get to go outside to watch, too? (Closely supervised around the big machinery, of course.)
Not when they are actually combining the field right beside us. These machines kick up a huge amount of dust and debris — dust when the crop is soybeans, flinging bare cobs when the crop is cowcorn. Dusty doesn’t have the best sense when it comes to eating what he finds on the ground and a corn cob can lead to a vet visit. But when the field beyond is being harvested, he will watch from outside. It is quite a ballet of machinery. When they grow watermelons in the field across the road (this is not every year) he gets to watch the crews with the portable conveyor belts — even I’m fascinated by how this happens. But from our side of the road to keep everyone safe. 😉
Very handsome goggie, and he seems like a terrific supervisor.
That coat is stunning. What a pretty pup and wonderful supervisory skills.
Dusty is a beautiful Pup! Any chance we can see a full facial picture?
I don’t know how to include a picture here ;). But Dusty has been in previous Cutetropolis postings. If you search for “Dusty” there is one back in April 2020 that showed how he looked when he was just over 1 year old (his “good boy response”). Thank you for admiring him! He’s very, very social and loves attention and admiration!
One of the related posts is Dusty…
Here’s the good boy…
I also found Dusty’s most boopable nose…
Dusty is so beautiful!
I also feel Dusty is a beautiful doggie. I love his coloring. He just wants to be out there supervising the workers, so no crop is left behind.
Oh Thank You! What a sweet, boop-able snoot! Dusty is just gorgeous! He is a treasure. Thanks for sharing him.
