Cockatoo is amazing! (I’m sorry, but birds really are ugly when they’re without feathers! Sorry bird parents😋)
I think the little raccoons learned it’s harder going down than up! And also, tho they were having a blast playing in the water, they wanted nothing to do with mom’s interference! So like human kids!
6Rabbits, I’m with you–baby birds are not cute until they’re fully feathered. This one looks plenty sassy at the end.
Peppy and Kringle met the perfect mom at the perfect time. May they all have many happy years together!
Love the doggie mayoral campaign. Littleton isn’t that far away from me; I should travel down and meet the new boss.
Raccoons are hilarious. The kits’ “uh-oh” faces had me howling every time.
Sweet stories today. Happy that the kitties, cows and the beautiful pibble found such good homes. Momma raccoon had me cracking up – get over here, you’re getting a bath whether you like it or not.
I think it’s really obvious that birds are descended from dinosaurs when you see them without their feathers. Especially since they discovered feathered dinosaurs!
I love Poe the 20 year old pittie, I hope I’m that energetic when I’m as old as she is.
I guess I’m the odd one out, I think baby birbs are adorable (in a so-ugly-they’re-cute kinda way).
The Ologies podcast recently did two episodes on raccoons. Love mama wrestling the little one into the water.
Poe is the sweetest. I love that everyone was dressed up for her party. 20 years is amazing!
I love this smile.
I love that smile too! Like a cute kid on school picture day.
Poe’s 20th birthday party with everyone dressed up made me howl and also get a little misty.
I played the cow video and then it autoplayed this one…
Lovely story
I’m with Allein on the so-ugly-it’s-cute side for baby birds. But it will ALWAYS cause me to cringe when I think about those long feathers coming out of that bony little head!
It snowed last night. Pretty, but I am getting tired of it.
Feel free to blow that snow to NYC – I’m sad we haven’t had any yet….

Hard to believe that’s real!
Who DOESN’T want to see a baby porcupine munch on a sweet potato!
I know, right! Especially a cookies’n’creme porky! Reminds me of the beautiful black and white kitty from a few days ago.
“Cookies n creme porky!” 😂 He is adorable in every way.
I couldn’t figure out how the water in the big bowl we set out for the deer was getting dirty so fast…until one morning I saw a raccoon taking a bath in it. Mystery solved! No babies, though, unfortunately.
I assume you got back from Denver safely? Good trip?
AMAZING trip!! I didn’t have a lot of time outside of photographing the band and editing the photos to do touristy stuff, but I did some walking around on Saturday. Went to the Christmas market (too crowded and too few people wearing masks to stay long) and went to some shops at 16th St Mall, walked by the Big Blue Bear at the convention center, etc. Took some cool photos of the lighted tree on 16th, too. I also had lunch with the guitar player and drummer on Saturday, and went to a karaoke bar with the band after the show on Saturday night. (I didn’t get much sleep, which my body reminded me wasn’t a good thing combined with the altitude, as I had a migraine when I woke up on Sunday.)
Here are some of the photos of the band, and the tree. I made them public so you should be able to see them.
20 year old pittie rescue’s happiness is really touching.
Poe is sheer delight.
