Every morning when she woke up, her friend was there. They went on long walks every morning and he led the way, showing her things she’d missed the day before. They curled up together when she was tired and he kept her warm. But sometimes he would not come. Those days spent by the window watching for him through the raindrops reminded her how precious he was. So every night, when it was time to say goodbye, she watched until he was gone. You never know.

This made me cry.
Me, too.
❤
Right there with you both.
Of course, everything is making me cry today. Time for some purr therapy.
I hope there’s room for me as well. Sniff.
Awwwwwwwww…..sniff, sniff 🥲
Mike, your story is truly lovely.
We lost my husband’s mother rather unexpectedly this year so that’s right you never know so make it count in everything you do.
This made me sad, because it can be so true. On the pet level, our babies do await our return home and don’t understand if something happened. And on the human level, on Christmas Eve day, our son-in-law, lost his best friend, to a motorcycle accident. We are still in shock, our family had seen him, often.
❤
I’m so sorry.
Hugs to all of us who are grieving–which probably includes all of us. Kindness is never wasted, so practice it as much as you can. You never know.
Hugs to you, Luv Bunny.
I’m in the same shoes, there have been so many losses lately.
Oh no. How tragic. My heart goes out to you all. 💕
Mike, have you considered doing greeting cards?
(Just in case) Everyone in Cutetropolis, I love you.
We love you too.
You all enrich my life so much. I love and appreciate you all, including and maybe especially Mike.
Cute peeps, Cute animals, and Cute Mike stories are my daily affirmation. Love you all!
Ditto!
Very sweet. And a good reminder for us all. Thank you Mike. Here’s to a better New Year for us all.
This seems an appropriate post to share that I just learned Betty White died this morning. 17 days short of 100. 😢
Oh, my, Mike’s story, all of your meaningful comments – sniffles happening here, too. I’ve been prone to occasional bouts of weeping, too. The ending of the holidays, the turning of the year – though this past year I will not miss – I always have the blues after Christmas, as a child, and even now as a senior citizen, denizen of Cutetropolis. You are a lovely, supportive bunch with hearts firmly in the right place. I hope for all of us that what’s ahead has measures of joy and peace and happiness. See you in 2022!
My husband told me she’d just died, and on top of everything else it made me cry. I have watched her on TV for so many years, she’s been a big part of my life even though I never met her.
But I’m with alll of you. This is my happy place, even if I haven’t posted much lately. I feel like I have some of the best friends here that I’ve ever had, and I love all of you and especially Mike, too! You’ve saved my sanity these past couple of years!
No. No. No. ryan reynolds will be heartbroken.
Now I’ve really lost it – the post, Farewell to Ani is beneath the Sol image.
What??!!
Thanks everyone for your comments. To me, it seems like there’s been a dim spirit that is evading so many of us. I’d say mostly due to the on going, seemingly never ending pandemic and all the physical and emotional toll it has done nationwide. Plus all the usual ups and downs life throws at us. Coming to this website daily, is the one happy moment for many of us, in our day. Mike, I wish you good health and happiness and more clever stories, for this new year. And fellow peeps, may we have better things to look forward in our lives and meanwhile, continue to enjoy one another’s support and clever/funny comments.
I must admit, I comment on just about every post, sometimes just so I can click the ‘notify me of follow-up comments’ box and make sure I don’t miss any.
This got me right in the feels. And then all the comments. Plus the news about Betty White. Sniffles galore. I’m so very grateful to have this community and Mike to help me through. Hoping 2022 is better.
I can’t believe the news about Betty White. 🥲 Ryan Reynolds said it perfectly.
I just had to watch a few Golden Girls episodes on Hulu – what a lady. What a legend.
I wish all of my fellow Qte peeps a very happy new year, and hope that we all have a healthy and very happy year ahead.
Mike, thank you for all that you do and for continuing this site. I appreciate this place more than I’m able to express.
Love to all of my Qte peeps. 💜
I was watching a show called 2021: It’s Toast with a bunch of celebrities (news people, comedians, musicians, actors) talking about all the fun viral internet stuff of the year (Bernie’s mittens, the cat lawyer, the tiktok sea shanty videos…). (I was just flipping through channels to see if there was anything interesting before I turned off the TV, and ended up watching; it was fun and there were lots of things I missed.)
They also had Noodle the pug and his human. Noodle says 2022 will be a Bones year, so let’s hope he’s right.
Thank you Mike, so beautiful . Happy new year to you and all the Cute gang.
