It is the 239,127th great wonder of the world, yet no one knows how it got there. Is it a natural formation? The work of an forgotten civilization? An artifact left behind by space travelers? To date, nobody has solved the riddle of… The Pyramid of Foxes!

I’m sorry, Mike, but you have fallen victim to some false information regarding this image.
Long ago, when this part of the world was still under water, a group of highly evolved frigate tuna were preparing to leave the ocean and begin their lives as land creatures. They decided that, since this was such a mighty venture on their parts, they should leave some sort of memorial at the site where they would take their first wobbly steps into the future. After some discussion, it was decided that a pyramid would be symbolic, pointing up and out of the sea. So they assembled a pile of rocks, and draped them with several varieties of sea grass, much of which was a sandy red colour. The sea grass settled into place on the rocks, giving them an almost lifelike quality, which was impossible, as the frigate tuna were the most advanced life form at the time. Since it wasn’t real, the frigate tuna decided they were unreal life forms, and the fish in this area called unreal life “faux” life, or simply faux.
The frigate tuna exhaled their final breaths through their vestigial gills, and popped their heads above the surface to take their first breaths of air in their lungs. Holding fingered fins, they stepped out of the water onto land, to began their new lives together. The fish left behind were having mixed feelings, and they all knew that the pyramid of faux would always touch their hearts with happy and sad memories. In time, though, the languages of the fish were modified through life experiences, and it was decided that it would be more prudent to name the pyramid after something real, instead of something unreal. So they took the old family name of the frigate tuna, which was auxis thazard, and used that for the pyramid’s new name. And forever after, even when the sea had receded and left dry land behind, the memorial was always known as the Pyramid of Auxis.

Wow, just wow. Brava, dear Duckie, Brava. Absolutely magnificent follow-up to Mike’s brilliant as usual post. Us mere mortals bow before such greatness.
