Such a handsome boi! Love the raccoon-like stripes on his tail. Could have used this fire this morning. Got up and the house was 59 degrees 🥶 😱. Just a little cool. I prefer to leave the heat off at night as if it’s too warm, I have trouble sleeping.

Not too much going on this weekend, just running a few errands and getting the house organized. Going out a little later to explore how to get to the local shopping mall via public transit. Enjoy the weekend and stay warm everyone!

Way to go Hamster. Perfect spot! Just remember to turn frequently so that all sides are done! 😸

Cozy handsome Hamster kitty looks snug (and smug) as a bug on a rug!

I could use a warm spot by the fire to snooze, I’ve slept a total of 2 hours last night waiting for the call from my husband to come and pick him up from the hospital.

We did manage to go to the restaurant for his birthday on Thursday evening but when he woke up yesterday morning he couldn’t urinate properly, a little came out but not much. He waited until the afternoon to see if things would go back to normal but they didn’t so I said that’s it you’re going to the hospital.
I dropped him off at the emergency room since I can’t go with him because of Covid restrictions. After spending all night at the emergency and seeing 2 doctors he said that they will put a catheter in and he’ll have a scan later today.

I swear I’m this close to exchanging him for a newer model (just kidding … maybe)

Hope all turns out well Georgiana. My hubby also has several medical issues thanks to his time in the military and I like to joke under CA’s Lemon Law, I could have turned him for a working model. Somehow he doesn’t see the humor in it.

      • Debg February 5, 2022 / 12:18 pm

        Well, I see the humor!

    • Debg February 5, 2022 / 12:17 pm

So sorry for all your worry, Georgiana. Sending healing purrs and good thoughts your way.

    • Georgiana February 5, 2022 / 5:04 pm

Almost exactly 24 hours after going to the emergency room he is back at home, the scan will be Monday because they didn’t have room today and he’ll have to wear the catheter until his next appointment on February 19th.

Oh, gosh, that sounds pretty miserable. But at least your husband is getting some kind of relief, even though the situation is hardly optimal. Sorry you both have to put up with this.

      • Kar February 5, 2022 / 8:34 pm

That does not sound like a good time.

Wishing good thoughts for you both.

Hamster has the right idea. We’ve had an exceptionally cold week here in Colorado, with lots more snow. I’ve spent most of my waking hours huddled in front of a space heater, often under an electric throw.

Quiet weekend here. I hope to finish weaving my bio dad’s throw and to sample colors for his wife’s throw. Plus I finished a new sweater (from hand-dyed handspun) that needs to be blocked. Any excuse not to go out into the cold–while my house isn’t exactly warm, it’s not as cold as the great outdoors!

Good morning Hamster, and could you move over a bit, to make room for me?
Georgiana and AJ, I keep threatening to invoke the “till death do us part” clause in our marriage vows when hubby does something not amusing.
Crazy week, but more of a good crazy than not. Hubby and I have made a tentative two year plan to get our place fixed up and move out, including footnotes for the unexpected. Duckie flew into the kitchen and did NOT get hurt. I have a cold, but it isn’t aggressive. We didn’t get any of the snow predicted. And there are wild snowdrops popping up.
    Have a great weekend, everyone.

    • AJ February 5, 2022 / 4:30 pm

That’s why me and hubs sleep in different rooms. His snoring is so atrocious I’d half joke about the death do us part bit and how no court would convict me as they’d agree that it was justifiable homicide.

Hamster and his accessories are nicely color-coordinated.

30 degrees and sunny today. I need to do some chores and clean out my bread box.

A game for your Caturday morning…

    Spot the difference:

    • Duckie 🐥 February 5, 2022 / 12:43 pm

Different expiry dates! Hah, can’t fool me!

    • AJ February 5, 2022 / 4:24 pm

That’s easy, one looks a little undercooked.

    • Ricky & Bibi's Mom February 5, 2022 / 6:40 pm

Pre-toasted bread? Yeesh. I’ll take the chubbeh puppeh, thanks.

    • Kar February 5, 2022 / 8:36 pm

What the heck does cleaning out the bread box mean?

I’m hoping for your sake it includes bread pudding or french toast.

      • allein 🐾 February 5, 2022 / 9:10 pm

        (not my actual bread box)

I suppose that depends on whether any of the bread is green…

Can I solicit some good thoughts for my Beano kitty? Her upper respiratory infection that started a few days ago has gotten worse. We’re headed to emergency vet this afternoon, the earliest appointment I could get.

    • Duckie 🐥 February 5, 2022 / 2:24 pm

Aggressive feathered hugs headed in your direction now!

      • Ricky & Bibi's Mom February 5, 2022 / 2:59 pm

        Also healing puppy kisses!

    • Dubravkamcvmd February 5, 2022 / 3:15 pm

Good luck! Fingers and toes crossed!

I’m in Florida, visiting friends and family. Currently in Saratoga and it’s cold! Haven’t traveled in a while and it is unpleasant!

    • Emsthemonster February 5, 2022 / 4:11 pm

Oh, Maszat and I are sending healing hugs and purrs!
I hope some medication will help Beano.

    • AJ February 5, 2022 / 4:26 pm

Ooh sorry to hear about Beano. Hope it’s nothing too serious and kitty feels better soon. Hugs to both of you.

    • Georgiana February 5, 2022 / 5:07 pm

      Hope Beano gets better soon!

    • Kar February 5, 2022 / 8:37 pm

Fingers crossed and let us know what’s going on.

    Duck!!!

    • Debg February 5, 2022 / 3:53 pm

Dear autocorrect, maybe this time it *is* duck.

    • AJ February 5, 2022 / 4:22 pm

Snerk, that waddle done me in.

    • Duckie 🐥 February 5, 2022 / 5:34 pm

The waddle is about right, but I go much slower than this.

    • allein 🐾 February 5, 2022 / 5:39 pm

My favorite is the feet on wood sound.

BTW, I went to his youtube page and realized this is Wrinkle the Duck who ran the NYC Marathon.

  9. Dulcie February 5, 2022 / 3:14 pm

Hugs and love DebG. 💕 Fight it Beano…you can do it.

    Speaking of staying warm…

A local animal rescue had a sleepover when the winter weather forced 2 volunteers to spend the night. The volunteers chose to sleep in the adoptable cat room (about 30 cats?).

The next morning, the overnight guests said they loved it, although at times it was difficult to sleep because so many cats wanted to sleep on them that they were at times overheated.

I really feel like people would pay for this experience.

    • Leigh February 5, 2022 / 5:22 pm

      I would!! Sounds heavenly.

    • Duckie 🐥 February 5, 2022 / 5:35 pm

      Same here!

    • AJ February 5, 2022 / 5:58 pm

Where do I sign up?? Sounds like the perfect sleeping arrangements to me.

    • Debg February 5, 2022 / 8:08 pm

I don’t have to pay. I get this for free, every night.

Beano is back home with some antibiotics. We think it’s an upper respiratory infection. She schmoozed all over the male vet tech.

      • Dulcie February 5, 2022 / 8:46 pm

Let’s hope that does the trick DebG!

      • AJ February 5, 2022 / 9:07 pm

Love hearing the good news and can’t believe that little hussy, flirting with the tech oh my. I just might have to clutch my pearls, lol.
