Dog helps heal, cute caracal kittens, dogs done with winter, bonobo tongue, and more.

And finally: Tongue-out Tuesday Wednesday!

Murray C. shares this cute window washer. (It finally happened; I can’t remember what day it is.)

I’m with all the anti-cold dogs. It’s 25 degrees here and I’m just glad I don’t have to go out today (though I should probably check the mail at some point…).

Don’t worry, Mike, I wasn’t sure what day it was yesterday, either.

High temps for the next few days where I am are 54, 67, 52. That last day is forecast to have a low of 24. Last week spent days below freezing. I just want it to pick a season.

      • allein 🐾 February 16, 2022 / 10:20 am

Saturday it was almost 60 and Sunday it snowed.

        We’re up to 35 now.

I got whiplash from how quickly the weather turned here. Towards the end of last week and over the weekend we hit 90F and higher in SoCal then yesterday the temps dropped and we had rain. It was so chilly I had to turn the heat on last night and this morning. Looking at the weather forecast, it will only be mid 60’s today then over the weekend it will be in the 70’s. I just dress in layers now so I can add/take off as needed.

Yesterday it was mid-50s. Today we’re expecting snow. I concur with Blue Footed Booby–pick a season already!

Love Amali the bonobo. Have to save everything else for later, and it will be such a treat!

Do I sound greedy if I would like Coco and the 5 kittens? Maszat is so lonely sometimes.

I’m back from work. I confronted the guys, the less stupid one apologized, the very stupid one was trying to throw shade. ( Yes, I have achieved everything by my beauty – what beauty? LOL) Then they started quarrelling about whose idea it was to trick me originally.
I got the tension out of my system, they remained just as stupid as before, so all is well.

I’m so glad you updated us on the situation–I just checked in to say “I hope we hear from Ems.”

You can’t fix stupid. It’s good that you took care of yourself and told them they screwed up. That’s all you can do.

    • debg February 16, 2022 / 10:47 am

      How is Maszat?

      • Emsthemonster February 16, 2022 / 11:31 am

Thank you for asking. I’m not quite satisfied with her appetite. She eats so much less than she did in winter. (We have a very warm spring here quite unexpectedly). But she is active and playful, so I hope everything is OK.

How is Beano? Has she fully recovered?

        • debg February 16, 2022 / 5:25 pm

Beano has finally turned the corner–barely any sniffles now. It seemed to take forever, though.

Do you still have Maszat’s kitten around?

    • Ricky & Bibi's Mom February 16, 2022 / 1:20 pm

Thanks for the update, Ems! DebG is so right, you can’t fix stupid.

I’m sorry you are concerned about Maszat. I hope her appetite returns, but meanwhile it is certainly good news that she is active and playful.

This is as good a result as could be expected. You were definitely more courageous than I could have been,

Coco and her kittens! And the caracal kittens! They’ve turned my brain to mush.

  5. Dulcie February 16, 2022 / 10:53 am

    Ems…👍
You can’t fix the judgement challenged. But it is even harder to fix immature adults.

And any furbaby, anywhere, anytime, will fix anything that’s broken. (But maybe not those two guys).

    • Emsthemonster February 16, 2022 / 11:45 am

These guys are both in their 50s btw.

When the very stupid one was yelling at me I was just thinking: all the cats and dogs I ever raised were more intelligent than this guy 🙂
I had a wonderful Hungarian Vizsla when I was a teenager, he was intelligent enough to do this guy’s job, except for writing e-mails. 🙂

      • AJ February 16, 2022 / 12:51 pm

this comment had me cracking up and I agree that so many animals are more intelligent than some of the people I work with/have worked with in the past. So glad you gave them a piece of your mind and everything worked out. I forget who said it but you can’t fix stupid.

I would like to thank everyone for giving me advice and supporting me yesterday. It meant a lot to me.

  7. allein 🐾 February 16, 2022 / 12:55 pm

Oh my goodness what is this country coming to?!

    • Ricky & Bibi's Mom February 16, 2022 / 1:23 pm

If you ask me, bunnies and chickens are an improvement.

Someone had fun writing that copy.

    • debg February 16, 2022 / 6:30 pm

      Hilarious and adorable.

      Also newsreaders are not actors.

I’m gonna need a biger house – I want Morpheous, Coco and her kittens, and the caracal kittens. They’re all so loverly. Mastiff had me cracking up, glad his parents accomodated his whims. I feel ya puppers that are all over winter, I was done with winter about 20 years ago and that’s why I now reside in SoCal. Only time I deal with snow/ice is when I go visit family in CO and even then I try to time it for the warmer months.

  9. Carlotta February 16, 2022 / 1:41 pm

“Aw-ing” and laughing at the mastiff and telling myself “no, you don’t really want a dog that’s twice your weight”! Adorable, though.
Also done with winter, but like a lot of places, just wait a few days, and it’s temperate again.

Ok. Emotions have been so varied in last few days that I’m actually numb. I’ve settled into optimistic uncertainty for now. Because:
—Family chat on Sunday night. Dad is freaking out about possible changes in laws regarding taxation on capital gains. It doesn’t affect us personally, but a freaked out father is not a pretty sight.
—Oldest sons of youngest sister have their own website on activities of emergency vehicles in town (both are under 18). Found out today they had gone to the scene of a murder here in town!
—COVID restrictions are gradually being reduced, and by the end of February, I might be able to cross the line! Awesome birthday present!
—Spring cleaning going better than expected.
—Weather won’t make up its mind. I would prefer permanent autumn.
Ems, glad you dealt with Stupid and Stupider.
I would love snow-shy giant puppers.

Joe in the snow and Morpheus had me ROFLMAOing. Morpheus’s dad has great taste in goggies. Cheese, maybe not so much.
