Greetings, residents of Cutetropolis, and welcome to another Caturday. Welcoming us today is Teller, who has done something both extraordinary and typically cat-like, according to reader Muppet2171:
The entire time he’s owned me (going on 12 years now), I’ve never seen him go for a plain cardboard box. He’s got his box with unused bedding in the closet, but that doesn’t count because comforters and other soft stuff. This is just a plain, ordinary box. And he just… hopped in! Truly, a red-letter day! Or something like that.
The gorgeous Teller expressing solidarity with Maru?
Wow, truly a historic moment!
Not much going on. I’ve been on vacation for the last three days and of course got little of my planned stuff done. I really need to clear off my table and kitchen counters, though.
March is almost over…where does the time go?
It’s always a pleasure to see the handsome Teller, with his reminder to take nothing for granted.
I dished my tea last night while it was hot. The anticlimax is that both Bibi’s bed and blankie are sufficiently de-stinkified to remain in my home and in use. Her Majesty seemed a little unsure about both this morning, but after a little snuffling around decided they were okay. Of course I can’t stop myself from checking every so often for another surprise, but then I’m not as smart as Bibi, who generally lives in the moment.
Is Teller de-cluttering, perhaps?
R&Bās Mom – I mustāve missed something. Dished my tea? De-stinkified? Is a puzzlement!

Thank you. Iām so far behind the times is So many ways.
I can’t get enough of Teller’s gorgeous blue eyes!
RICKY & BIBI’S MOM that really was a nasty surprise for you an Bibi.
I’m anxiously waiting for Spring to finally arrive for real, it’s been grey and raining all week and the wind is cold so it’s no fun to take a walk outside.
I’m starting to notice some bare shelves in the grocery store mostly for imported products like my favourite instant noodles so I guess the shipping problems haven’t been resolved yet otherwise it’s been an uneventful week here, noting to really talk about so I’ll just wish everyone a good weekend.
I wish we could swap weather for a few days. I cannot even remember what rain feels like.
It is 22 C here and sunny. I think this will be the first day of 2022 without heating.
Muppet, I see something in that box under Teller so I think he has fooled you again. (We are so easily impressed.) Technically, it wasn’t empty before he jumped in. He looks so relaxed!
Peeps, can I get your good wishes for today? I’m meeting with builders for the first time and should have more news soon about how much new house I can afford. It’s amazing that I slept at all last night.
Hugs to everyone. Congrats on de-stinkification and lazy vacation days!!
Best of luck DebG! Stressful but exciting!
Good luck! Iām impressed that you are taking this on.
Bibi and I send very best wishes for this new adventure!
Hugs to you, Debg. I hope all is going well.
I’m a bit late but I hope all went well with the meeting.
Teller has realized he is, indeed, a cat! A lovely fella, too. Much cleaning needs to happen here as well. Slow and steady does it. It is lovely in Bham, AL this time of year. No heat to drive you inside and the flowers are just budding out. Gorgeous. Trying to enjoy the views after having been ill since Feb. 15th. The little things make a difference.
Hope you are better now. And yes, sometimes it is the small, taken for granted stuff that can make a difference. šøš
I’m so sorry you have been ill, and for so long! I do hope you are securely on the mend now.
I hope you’re fully recovered now. That’s a long time to be sick.
Ooh, my package is coming today!
My college does a thing called “Power of One Day” where they encourage donations from alumni; the goal is 1899 individual donations on that day (because the school was founded in 1899). I did mine (since I didn’t do one at Christmas like usual) and as a bonus the confirmation page included a 20% discount code for the college store, so I ordered a pint glass with the logo etched on it. I already have an alumni pint glass from a few years ago (that one was a freebie) which I love, and I have been slowly diminishing my collection of drinking glasses from clumsiness (just broke one a few weeks ago; was emptying the drainer and looked away as I picked it up and hit it on the bottom of the cabinet) so I figured what the heck. (Even with the discount, with shipping it was more than I normally would spend on a glass, but I had been eyeing it before and the odds of my getting out there any time soon to visit the store in person are slim to none.)
And maybe I’ll have some tea.
(No, I didn’t really buy it.)
Wha?? š
I love Oolong tea. This is hilarious.

What a gorgeous creature!
Apparently her bed is a special therapeutic mattress…
Big, wet, cow boop!
Zzzzzzzzzmorning.
Itās a cold, soggy day in Duckieville, and neither of its occupants feel like doing much.
Allein, Little Duckie wishes to inform you that she would be exceptionally offended, but that would take more energy than she is willing to exert. Besides, she has her own āteasā to make.
Hello, Teller. You look warm and cuddle-able today.
Crazy week. Big tax refund, too many medical tests (I HATE lung function tests; they always leave me feeling congested), and news that hubby is being transferred because the mall he first worked at wants him back, and the mall he is at now has hired a donkey sphincter as manager. Same company, different location. (This is good. Slightly less pay, but better people and better working conditions.) Niece has postponed her wedding because of housing issues. (This will be interesting.)
Have a safe, warm, dry weekend, everyone.
“Donkey sphincter” š¤£š¤£!!
After having ready Duck Sh*t Oolong. I just read Duckie’s husband’s boss being described as a “Ducky Sphincter.” Snerk!
Late to the party today. Teller is as handsome as ever and hey better late than never with discovering if I fits I sits. Good to hear everyone’s updates. Fingers crossed Deb that the meeting went well and your own your way to getting the home of your dreams. Was up early today for a car club cruise. We opened it up to drivers not part of our club so we had about 20 cars going down the highway – Mustangs, Camaros, Dodge Challenger and a few others. Went to the Desert View Tower (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desert_View_Tower), talk about amazing views! It’s like you’ve gone back in time a million years, kept expecting a dinosaur to stroll by. Then out to lunch and ice cream. Stick a fork in me I’m done for the day. Tomorrow is errands and working in the yard before we’re totally over run by the weeds.
Iāve been meaning to ask this, I guess for years now. What is a car club?
A car club is a group of enthusiasts for a similar type of car – for example hubby belongs to a Mustang car club. One has to have a Ford Mustang to join. All we do in the club is mostly hang out, go to car shows (either as a spectator or we enter our car to be judged for prizes), and go for drives. We also do some charity work. There are other clubs for Mercedes, BMW, or more general – European sports cars, American muscle cars (Mustangs, Camaros, etc).
Thank you! Iāve never owned a car. As a lifelong resident of NYC, I do have views on the merits of the different subway lines. Since you donāt usually have a choice of which you can take to get to your destination, my preferences have no consequences.
That depends how many connections between lines you might have to make!
LOL Youāre getting into the weeds now! I actually use the MTA Trip Planner. Itās pretty good.
I remember the NYC subway lines very well. Lived in Queebs for several years so I used to roam all over the place from Jamaica to Bronx Zoo to Seaport Village. Between the buses, subway, and a little walking almost no area was out of bounds. I tried driving and hated it so either hubby drives me or I use our public transit. Where Iām at in San Diego we have a smaller version of the subway, the trolley system with three main lines. Quite literally with this system, I could get on at the US/Mexico border and go all the way to La Jolla or switch and go out to the Eastern portion of the county. Add in bus lines, and like NYC I can go most anywhere. All you need is a pass and some patience.
