I must admit , that newborn lamb is more articulate than I am. 😳

…and she was just born that day!

It always amazed me when our farm animals gave birth. One minute they are all cozy sleeping away inside mom. Then next minute they are out…standing up, talking, and looking for food!

She’s also way cuter than me! Or most newborns, for that matter.

The hide & seek animals were great—had to look at all 150! Interesting how many chose to “hide” behind the tall fan. And obvy curtains must be a little longer than floor length! The “nose in the wall” hiding at the vet seems to be popular also. Too cute!💙😉

Yes, hidey animals are so sweet! I had a sweet, big, floofy, black cat (16lbs named Baghira of course) who I could take to the vet without a carrier. ‘Course, once we got there, it was so scary, that big ball of fluff would sit on my lap and tuck his head under my arm – to hide. Never mind that the other 15lbs of fluff were completely exposed to everyone else. 😉

Can’t wait to see all the links when my vacation starts at noon!!!!! I’m off on Monday and Tuesday because my half-brother, his wife, and his two kids will be in town. I need extra time today to clean up my house. They’re not staying with me, but bro is allergic to cats so I’m trying to minimize his suffering if we spend any time here.
I want to party with that darling lamb.

Omg that wee black kitten.
I’m not a catologist. Will his eyes stay that color? He’s stunning.

Just like those of human infants, kitten’s eyes, blue at birth, are likely to change color. In kittens, the process starts at three to three-and-a-half weeks (my authority for this is Robyn Anderson of Love and Hisses). It’s very rare for adult black cats to have blue eyes. A web-search tells me there’s an exception to this rule (tendency?): a breed called Ojos Azules (Blue Eyes).
When I was a wee one I named one of our black kitties “Blueberry” because of the eyes. Mom said I would have to change it as kitty grew up. I was huffed. She was right. 😸

Has anybody found a donation link for that Ukrainian pet rescue operation? The pictures made me sob and I want to help. Those people are beyond heroic.

ADA is the name of the Polish organization mentioned in the Ukraine pet rescue article. There are many charities worldwide involved in rescuing pets from Ukraine. The article I’m linking to here gives the name of five *verified* charities doing similar good work. Any one of them would be glad of a donation, I’m sure.
Many, many thanks. All the horribleness of Ukrainian news is really hitting me today, especially when it affects our furry friends.

It really has been a most shocking and surreal situation with the war on Ukraine. I know many if not all, Cute peeps feel the same, regardless of heritage. I have been finding it so difficult to rid my mind of the recent footage and images from the streets of Ukraine. I have had to not watch or listen any news at all.
🇺🇦 💕

Dr Kotowicz deserves a medal for his work helping pets in Ukraine and so do all the other vets and organizations doing such great work.

The kitten hiding under the dog and the dog protecting the kitty are too beautiful. The polish vet rescuing animals is a wonderful person.
