And finally: Easter Egg Punt
Murray C. shares some mongooses (mongeese? mongoosees?) who bring a football-style approach to opening their Easter eggs.
Bunny Rescue! Such cute buns and glad everyone is okay.
The mongooses are hysterical! Good thing those eggs are plastic, eh? Sort of like working out *while* you lunch.
I’m so glad the bunnies are okay. Bless the scared one’s leetle heart. The mongoose (mongeese) were funny and smart in figuring out how to open the plastic eggs.
Happy bunny was rescued from the fire.I thought they spoke English in Australia?
English is the majority language, though many others are spoken as first languages by some Australians—both incomer languages and aboriginal. The firefighter is actually speaking English, but the audio quality is really poor—I had to play it through a couple of times myself. Or were you just responding to Mike’s hassenpfeffer joke?
The funniest incident of people speaking English but not being understood was some documentary I saw years ago where they interviewed people in Newfoundland Canada where English is the main language. Well, the Newfie accents were so strong they actually had to subtitle the English so the viewers could understand them! 😮🤣
There have been times in online games where I’ve had to be interpreter for someone from backwoods Appalachia, which is apparently not an easy accent for the unfamiliar, especially foreigners. It reminded me of that line about the US and Britain being two countries separated by a common language.
It’s like that scene from the movie Airplane – “Excuse me stewardess, I speak jive” and it’s a old white lady. It always cracked me up.
🤣 One of my favorites, blue footed booby!
I learned to talk in Southwest VA, and still return to my native twang after being there awhile or with my relatives. When I visit with my husband or anyone from above the Mason Dixon line, I have to translate for them.
I was responding to the intense Australian accent. It reminded me of the last time I was in England. I got into a cab at the airport and said where I wanted to go and the cabbie said something that caused my brain to turn itself inside out. By the time we got to my destination I was understanding “English.”
I needed the mongoose hilarity after all the tear-jerker links. So happy for all the rescues and recognition of heroic critters (and their hoomins).
I hope Rose the mountain lion cub make a full recovery it’s lucky she was found in time.
The mongooses made hilarious but it’s a good solution to the problem of opening the plastic egg but imagine the mess with real egg LOL!
Wow, mongooses get some distance on those things!
The Easter Bunny’s name is Brian? Huh.
OMG the little squirrel Peanut jumping in slow motion! Fabulous! He could be in the Olympics.
