Cuddly old boy, lost cat returns home, elk calf rescued, sneaky puppy prank, and more.
And finally: Sneak Attack
Clearly the dogs have no idea what that music means, Andrew Y.

Jaws puppy is hilarious, the look of disapproval for the human filming on the other 2 dogs is priceless.
Stalking puppy is too cute. I wonder what his siblings are watching outside…
Will have to save the rest for later. I am saving my usual morning news podcasts for later, too (because news is terrible and I need to just not right now), in favor of listening to the audio of Randy Rainbow’s new book while I work from home. It’s “only” seven hours and I am listening at 1.25 speed so I can easily get through it today. (I’m not usually an audiobook person but he reads it himself so I checked it out. I also got the hardcover but that’s due back tomorrow and I barely had a chance to start it because I was still reading my previous book when it came in at the library, and I can’t renew it because it has holds on it. At least I got to look at all the pictures.)
Buckley and Ralphy are adorable and I’m so glad they have each other. I’m happy the beautiful elk calf was rescued from the wildfire but I can’t help but think of the many, many animals who were killed. But hey! The fossil fuel industry, the banks, and Wall Street need to make more money NOW.
Thank goodness for stalker puppy, scary monitor lizard, and a beloved cat who found its family again. Also hurrah for Wain.
These good feels are all that’s holding me together right now–still reeling from recent events. It’s important to remember that there’s still love, and laughter, and goodness in the world.
Stalker puppy cracked me up. Reminds me of my brother and me, he always found new places to hide and jump out at me from. No wonder I was a nervous wreck as a child. Buckley and Ralphy, just awwwww. So happy for the BFFs. Plus a cat that found its way home. Plus the hunky fireman who saved the baby elk. Just glad I didn’t find that lizard in any tree in my yard. That would be a big nope from me. And big thank you to Mike for all the feel good stories today, very much needed.
I would have seen the lizard tail, assumed it was a danger noodle, and started screaming.
Back in my teen years, I was walking into my parents’ bedroom to throw stuff in the laundry hamper. My brother was just coming out their shower in his birthday suit. He joke-screamed and scared me so badly that I real-screamed. I can still laugh myself to tears over the memory.
In an effort to up the general mood here (*#$~§^ news), I wish to announce that Duckie has started dancing to music. Just a few side to side steps, with the random turnaround, and vocalizations, but it’s definitely dancing. And she can almost wolf whistle.
That is fantastic! I would love to see some video of a dancing bird.
How are you feeling today? Sending extra hugs and purrs, just because.
I’m keeping it together. Hubby has two days off after nine on, which is helping.
That’s fabulous. Ditto on the video if possible. I hope you’re feeling better – I’m sure a dancing Little Duckie has to help.
Yeah!!!! Love when boirbs find their inner Martha Graham and start bopping around to the music.
