Oldest living dog, rescue mink loves the pool, judgmental Chihuahua, hungry recycle bin, and more.

And finally: Feed Me!

I found a floppy disk a while back containing Windows themes I made in, like, middle school. One was of Fallout 2. Another was Morrowind. I never made a kitty theme. Also I inexplicably have a working floppy drive.

      You collect antiques! That’s amazing.

I sometimes wonder if we’ll have to come up with a new save icon, or if it’ll eventually just become an abstract shape, changing over time like how Egyptian hieroglyphs eventually became the Latin alphabet (via…several intermediate steps).

If I had that chomping kitty on my computer, I would delete all. the. things. just to feed him.

Yay for Mrs. Norris and her new family.

All the videos will have to wait.

Is that kitty recycle bin a real thing you can put on your computer? Because I want it.

I’m not normally a fan of chihuahuas, but Tina is wonderful.

      I am BESOTTED with Tina!!!!

Tina is amazing indeed. I loved her tiny pancake.

Also had never heard of telling a new pet about the one you lost–it’s a fantastic idea. So happy for Tina and her wonderful family.

Tina is hilarious! And, Nico is utterly adorable.

I don’t know who I’m in love with more – the amazing Tina, tortitude personified Mrs. Norris, sweetie pie Pebbles, or water baby Nico. Then there’s Beau with his BFF. I want them all. Hey, I’ve got 1/2 acre, there’s plenty of room. I’ll just move them all in, lol.

Got to watch all the videos before I posted today! I’m taking the day off for a 4-day holiday weekend!

All these lovely rescue stories are so healing. Thanks, Mike and sender-inners. It’s wonderful to see these critters living their best lives with people who clearly adore them.

Lucky. We get out at 1:00 (16 minutes!) but I don’t think I’ll leave right then. Next week is closing week and my boss is in Italy!! I have to do one thing tomorrow (which takes about 20 minutes) and then I have to work Sunday and my goal is to get enough done that I don’t have to log in on Monday. Thankfully I have now unloaded my regular weekly stuff and most of the monthly reports onto the new guy (who can’t work from home yet; I gave him his laptop the other day but I don’t know if the help desk is finished getting it set up for him).

Tina has a tiny pancake?! I can’t wait to see!

I love the story of Tina.
I made a bunch of calls yesterday, and found out that the only place that does the heart MRI that I need is St. Paul’s hospital. And they do not do private, patient-paid, MRIs. SO, I had this outrageous idea. Once I have been given an appointment, I’m going to post the time/date, and then ask everyone to write to the hospital and ask for an earlier appointment. Maybe getting letters from all around the world, all asking the same thing, might cause enough of a fuss to make it happen. If nothing else, we’ll all get a laugh from the confusion on their faces.

I will happily write on your behalf.

Give me their number. I can be quite persuasive on the phone. Used to handle all the dr appts and bills for my Mom. I’m kinda in the same situation. One of my drs wants me to have a minor procedure so I’ve been calling to make an appt for several weeks. First they couldn’t find the order, now they say the order is missing my birthdate. Sooo, now have to call the dr and have them get off their butts to refax the order over with all the info. Urggghhh. Why does everything have to be so difficult???
