Because I noticed you watching my nest and going ooh and aah like you people do, and here I am, just a single mother trying to make ends meet, and I’m thinking maybe you could toss in a few grubs? A nice fat worm?

I have two different kinds of birds that have their nests in my fir tree. I always know when its feeding time (4 times a day) because they are LOUD when they are hungry!
I have been in the vicinity of many nests. But darn it none of them have ever been next to a window!! Like the people who could watch the baby squirrels grow up right next to the window.
Sigh.
I’d leave a few worms in that nest. At times, all mothers need help. We’re enjoying watching the momma birds bringing their babies to our feeders and suet feeder. I find myself telling the momma to feed the other baby and not just the one always jumping in front.
OMG the screaming beaks! I squealed out loud.
Remember a babysitter of mine who cut up hot dogs into little shreds for the orphaned bird she was caring for but suspect PETA would consider feeding anyone a chemically laden sausage cruelty these days.
I’d spring for a couple of worms if she doesn’t want formula, one of the few mothers who’s not scrambling for this.
