Um, what the heck was going on in that lady’s car? Did she just leave her window down and a bunch of strays thought that looked like a great place to practice parkour?

I think one cat got the zoomies and the others got overstimulated and started zooming themselves?? Cats are mysterious creatures.

If they’re strays, that was terror rather than the zoomies. It reminded me of Scorpius the first night he was in my bathroom.
DulcieJuly 21, 2022 / 10:22 am
Yes that looked like terror to me. Poor kits. ☹️

This is what usually happens when curiosity leads them into the car. First they seem to think “what a big something this is”. When they realise that the space inside is not infinite they get such a quick panic that they want to find a way out as fast as possible. They just jump around and they don’t even notice an open door/window. I have seen this with quite a few cats.

For that many cats I’m thinking that she could have some uh, ‘herbal’ essence of some kind.
Like she had a brick of catnip or something under the dashboard. A clowder typically doesn’t travel en masse.
Or maybe she’s just a really bad cat herder/transporter.
(could be a fun new show on the Discovery channel)

Mr. Beesley is amazingly adorable

He really is. Congrats to him and his new mom.

Love his smile!
Who else expected a “binturong” to be Australian?
Ricky & Bibi's MomJuly 21, 2022 / 4:40 pm
I did.
Mr. Beesley is redonkulously cute. And quite the Chatty Catty! Does he look a little lacking in the tooth department?
debgJuly 21, 2022 / 9:46 am
Tip like a motherpupper is my new go-to line. Love the brewery dogs initiative.
GeorgianaJuly 21, 2022 / 10:08 am
I had to look up what a binturong was because a binlet sounded like a small bin or garbage can LOL!!
I realized I knew the animal under the name bearcat.
debgJuly 21, 2022 / 10:51 am
The babies were lethally cute. Hope to see more photos of them.

Its like a red panda meets a wolverine.

Per Wikipedia, binturongs smell like popcorn!

Cat video is just crazy. Zoomies or just scared, hard to tell the difference. Just happy they got out of the car before too much damage done. I don’t know how anyone can look at pics of baby chimps, orangs, apes, etc and then still deny that we’re related. All those babies look like toddlers wearing a fur onsie. Plus those eyes!! Talk about looking into the soul of an animal. Bintlets are adorbs to the max. And Mr. Beasley, so sweet and such a smile.
DubravkamcvmdJuly 21, 2022 / 1:30 pm
Truly, looking into the eyes of the baby orangutan you know we’re closely related.
DulcieJuly 21, 2022 / 2:12 pm
Yes. It is a fact that we are related. Undisputed (unless you believe that the scientists who sequenced the genes were perpetrators of a hoax).
We share something like 95% genetic material in common. So while it is unlikely we descended from apes, we are definitely related.
“About 70% of our genes turn out to have a zebrafish counterpart. More to the point, if you look at genes that cause disease in human, 84% of these have zebrafish analogues.”
Very interesting article!

Yes that IS interesting!

Maybe kitties were trying to get away from the heat in a shady car. Then here some human and “SCATTER!”
6rabbitsJuly 21, 2022 / 7:54 pm
To me it looks like they were exploring the car and got thru the ONE open window. The panic and flurry came about because the human was “blocking” their exit and there was a mad dash for an alternate egress! Like “Jiggers…the cops!”

Interestingly, even zebrafish share 70% of our genetic code.
