Welcome to the Caturday open thread! Today we’re getting a visit from Hamster, whose human, Tracy R., recently gave him some important news:
I told Hamster that one of his owners had COVID but he was not to be concerned because all would be well. Here are his responses.
Hamster is so cute, and I love his name☺️ I hope whoever has Covid gets better soon!
Upvoted for Hamster! Invisibly downvoted for Covid. Get well soon, sufferer!
Such a cutie! And I bet his cure worked great. Who ever has/had it, get well quick. Hubby had a mild case this week, and amazingly I tested negative. Shoulder shrug on how that was possible, since I usually come down with everything. For him, it was like a head cold or allergies, which he initially thought it was. I’m glad he’s over it now.
Haircut today, and errands. Two munchkins are fine, sleep on the bed with me every night. What’s interesting is they don’t sleep with me but one sleeps in the dog bed next to me, and the other has claimed the other pillow. It works out great, especially for me, as I don’t have to worry about squishing one when I roll over. And their new nicknames are Bark and Mark. Valkyrie barks at most anything and always wants to get the last word in when you tell her “no bark”. Thor is a typical male dog and has to claim everything as his. Thankfully I think most everything has been claimed so he’s doing it less.
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!
Hamster makes a good nurse. Hope the patient is feeling better soon and no one else gets sick.
Hamster, you are a good nurse.
Too hot. Both Duckies wilting. Next week’s rain cancelled.
Big Duckie sick from meds. Waiting to hear from possible new doctor.
Have a weekend.
Hugs Duckie. Sorry the meds are making things miserable.
You have a weekend too. 💐
Hey Hamster! Where’s your mask?? 😸😸
So crazy that two people living in the same household with one pos and one neg.
Get well soon positive!
Almost forgot…
Anyone in Wisconsin? This is hilarious…(and there are cute animals in there so it’s appropriate; tried to find somewhere other than the book ‘o face but couldn’t).
I’ll have what he’s having.
Good boy Teller I’m sure you’ll take great care of your human.
It’s been an up and down week here, my husband developed a nasty cough this week so we did a home test and he’s negative for Covid, that’s the good news.
The not so good news is my rash is back. I have no idea if it’s due to the heat or if it’s shingles or what. It’s been coming every year in the summer for 3 years now. It’s always at the same place on my body, it itches like crazy, it lasts a couple of weeks and then it goes away.
The really bad news is my brother-in-law, the one who has cancer, fell in the bathroom Wednesday and his wife had to call and ambulance because he couldn’t get up.
I had noticed that he seemed weaker lately when we go for coffee once a week. The doctors said there is nothing more they can do for him and so they decided that he will be transferred to palliative care. 😢
Oh dear Georgiana. Not good news. I hope your brother in law can at least be comfortable. 💕
So sorry about all the rough news, Georgiana. It’s heartbreaking to watch loved ones grow weaker. I hope the palliative care can at least make your BIL more comfortable.
Hope you and hubby are feeling better too.
I’m very sorry to hear the sad news about your brother-in-law. My heart goes out to you and your family.
This was meant as a reply to Georgiana
I’m sorry about your brother/-in-law. Maybe your rash is eczema. I understand that dermatologists consider anything on the skin that doesn’t look cancerous eczema.
Or “dermatitis.” Which often means they just can’t be bothered to care. I Am Not A Doctor, but for whatever it may be worth, I’d look into clothing you only wear at this time of year, things you only eat or drink at this time of year, a seasonal pollen allergen, and whether or not your HVAC filter needs more frequent cleaning. Of course, it’s entirely possible that you have done all of that already, or that if you do it now, it won’t help. But it’s all I can think of at the moment. I hope you get some relief soon!
Hello Hamster! You’re a very good nurse, so hopefully your people will be COVID free soon.
I’m packing packing packing as the move happens next Saturday. So can’t wait for the week to be over–getting rid of boxes and eating real meals will be lovely.
Hugs to you all, especially if you’re physically or emotionally hurting.
