Cats-eye view of Japan, senior dog rescued, really big tortoise, and a moment of suspense.
Someone dumped this senior dog. It’s the best thing that happened to him.

Nice Oscar Wilde reference!
The Importance of Being Earnest was my introduction to Oscar Wilde but I must say the first thing that popped into my mind when I read the quote was Gene Wilder in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.
I saw that film when it came out, but all I remember about it was thinking it wasn’t a good adaptation of the book. Did he quote from *Earnest*? And use a contraction where Wilde didn’t?
Yes he did just like it’s written here, that’s why I thought of him first.
Well, “Always steal from the best” is a good motto, but IMO that’s taking it to extremes. 😉
Puppy: If I don’t move it won’t see me. … Oh, it’s not a dinosaur? Let’s play, then!
I watched the first Japanese cat video – it was lovely- and will watch the rest later. Rocket is SO sweet. I’m happy he will enjoy his sunset years.
Older Lab seems resigned to his fate with a playful puppy in the house. I think they’ll be great friends.
I love that photo of Hugo so much. Would love to visit him and rub his shell.
Puppy vs Dog reminds me of a standoff before a gun fight. Who’ll blink/draw first? Rocket is such a sweetie pie, glad he found a family to have a great retirement. The place I adopted Thor & Valkyrie from does something similar – they generally only take in seniors 8 yrs and up. Thor & Val were the youngsters at the place at 5 and 7 yrs. Check out Frosted Faces of Ramona CA. That is one hefty tortoise, best of luck to him & girlfriend, hoping for lots of little ones running around shortly. Have to check out the cat videos later, they look very cute.
I love Rocket. I’ve followed him on Instagram since he joined the PeeWee Brigade. He likes to stand and stare at his mom.
