I need to learn how to needle felt. The amount of bun fur brushed/shed over the summer could create a creature the size of that real cat!

It’s really easy and it’s fun, as long as you don’t poke yourself with the felting needle.

Also cat’s tug-of-war with the teddy head had me howling. Such a cat move!

That teddy bear is too cute.

I’ve seen the owl story before; I love it!

Mama chimpanzee hugging her baby … I’m not crying, you’re crying.

I’m crying too. What a gorgeous moment.

How quickly she moves when she sees the raised hand…and the HUG!🥹

The expression on the face of that cat well undergoing the various brushings was impressive.

And the personalized teddy bear was amazing. I’d be afraid to do that for my boys because Humboldt destroys fuzzy and furry things and then consumes enough of the remains to give himself stomach problems. Within about a minute it would be the start of an epic hairball….

I love that look at the end lke “what? why else would you give that to me if not to destroy?

Duckie laid an egg last night. Infertile, but still.

    • Dubravkamcvmd November 21, 2022 / 11:27 am

Wow. So eggs get laid regardless?

      • Duckie 🐥 November 21, 2022 / 11:42 am

Yes. And I will be doing everything possible to prevent it from happening again. I thought she was dying. And then it popped out, and she looked at it on the cage floor and went to eat.

    • Kar November 21, 2022 / 2:48 pm

So that’s a sign that she’s in good health and happy?

      • Duckie 🐥 November 21, 2022 / 5:09 pm

        Yup

Mama chimpanzee’s reaction to her baby squeezed my heart.

      Mine, too.

Watched mama chimp video a number of times. I wonder if she thought that it was dead and that’s why she was hesitant. Was visible despite the blue blanket.

Know sometimes that they remove unfortunate babies when the mother’s form unnatural grieving acts but wonder if they would also allow a mother to see the deceased as a way to let them grief.

Loved the ratties! I used to have one in the classroom when I taught 4th grade. She was such a sweetie! We’d leave her cage open and she’d come out and run around the sink area and play with her outside toys. She just didn’t live long enough. Heartbreaking.

My RA during my sophomore year of college adopted one of the rats from her psych lab after they done with their little experiments (running mazes and such). She was a white rat named Rosie. But the RA lived in Greece so she couldn’t take her home and another friend took Rosie home with him at the end of the year.
