Greetings and welcome to Caturday! It’s a sunny morning, so let’s meet on the sundeck with Mr. Gray in his favorite spot. “He does this every morning,” says sender-inner Julie W.
Bonus Video: Mr. Gray’s morning routine also involves a moment of quiet meditation, which is sometimes interrupted by a car horn, but he doesn’t let that bother him:
Happy caturday! Another month-end, another Sunday I gotta work. Need to do some laundry today.
That is so true! I almost always have an audience of two when in the bathroom. Now I know how moms of toddlers must feel, lol. Can I please just get 5 minutes to myself??
Shoot, during the winter I sit inside in front of my patio doors when the sun is out! Totally miss the sun during winter! Save me a place, Mr. Gray😉
Hmmmm…my Uncle Wayne would have been 80 this month…did he reincarnate into an adorable pupper?
I’m assuming there’s sound? Cos I’m not getting any. Cute puppers tho!
No sound. Just that face.
He’s very disappointed in you.
Wah! No disappointment! *immediately begins pets*
I’m waiting for my new washer and dryer to be delivered today, the old washer died Wednesday mid wash. It was 23 years old so it wasn’t totally unexpected but still not fun.
They just came to deliver our new washer and dryer and there was a big dent in the back of the washer. We called the store and the replacement can’t be delivered until Monday or Tuesday. I am NOT happy!
Your unhappiness is understandable. Hopefully they’ll come back with an undented machine, on time.
Does your washer & dryer need to go on the 2nd floor?
When I lived in a townhouse, I had difficulty getting a fridge delivered. The 1st one was dented. When I called for a replacement, the man asked me if I lived on the 2nd floor, because the delivery drivers will dent them on purpose if they’re not in the mood to carry it upstairs. LOL
I believe it!
No I live in a one story house and there only 6 steps to get to the front door.
It’s a cold and grey Saturday morning. I’m with Mr. Gray here.
Brief arctic wind spell expected for next two days, so I’m preparing for it.
I’ve finally caught on to Duckie’s egg laying schedule. She lays three eggs over five days, then waits a month and does it again. I told her to stop being human. BTW she’s started to chirp at barking dogs on TV. Bark, chirp, bark, chirp, etc. The egg laying is not so painful anymore. For both of us.
I’ve got some oddly good news. During a conversation with my parents the other day, they found out about our line of credit. We’ve been keeping it somewhat to ourselves, as my parents are helping out my other sister. But when they found out how much we still had to pay, they protested mightily, and promptly made arrangements to pay it off for us! We obviously have to pay it back, but it will be a heck of a lot easier to pay them than the bank, especially since they’re NOT charging interest. It feels like a huge burden has been lifted from my shoulders.
My upstairs neighbour got a new toilet installed on Wednesday, and went away for a week the next day. So the downstairs neighbour (who is looking after the birds) and I played a joke on her. We went up there, called her number on the cellphone, and when the answering machine started, one flushed the toilet, and the other spoke in a gurgling voice about how much the new toilet missed her.
Georgiana, I understand completely about washer frustrations. I’m still recovering from mine.
Off to do domestic stuff so I can relax on Sunday.
Have a great weekend, everyone.
Duckie, I’m so glad about the debt relief. Generous parents are a wonderful thing. I’m sitting in my condo because I have/had them.
You are a brilliant mind, Duckie. The toilet prank had me howling 🙂
That is fantastic financial news, Duckie! Sooooo much easier to pay off parents than the bank. My Dad loaned me money which allowed me to purchase the house I’m in now, which has doubled in value over last year. ☺️
Its not the best option but having no interest will be a big help and I’m glad that you had family that was willing/able to help out.
Mr. Gray has the right idea. I love his rocking meditation. I’m enjoying a moment of respite after a grocery run–we were out of cat food! The horror!
Got to see an amazing dance performance last night from the Compagnie Herve Koube. It featured a dozen male street dancers, mostly from Algeria and Morocco. The company director and choreographer grew up in Cannes and learned at the age of 25 that his family had emigrated from Algeria, so he wanted to rediscovery his roots. The dancing was as much acrobatics as anything else, and it was absolutely breathtaking. If you get a chance to see this company, don’t miss it!
Hugs to you all.
Much excitement at the Shortcakery last Thursday when the new oak living room furniture arrived, closely followed by a fair amount of swearing as I unpacked it and bundled up a vast amount of cardboard for recycling. By the time I’d finished I had to lie down for a while to recover! The new oak dresser and chairs for the dining room (I already have a suitable table) should be here in a couple of weeks and the floor coverings will be in place by 3rd March, which means that I only have to endure five more weeks of living amongst total chaos. Today I made some curtains for the kitchen and tomorrow I’ll be busy painting the skirting boards and door frames.
For some time I’ve been toying with the idea of replacing the internal and front doors with something more in keeping with the age of the house (about 1906), but I’d more or less decided against it on the grounds of expense. However, today I received a totally unexpected tax repayment that will more than cover the cost!
New furniture is exciting! It will feel like a totally new house!
All very happy news!
Solar collection mode activated. That’s how I feel on winter mornings, ahhhh sunshine.
