Good morning and happy Caturday! Today’s visitor, from reader Candi G., just wants to spend the weekend in her canopy bed:
Piper got a new bed for her 11th birthday. We can’t get her out of it.

Oh it is perfect that Piper is a house panther! Supervillain lair is right.
😆 Supervillain lair is a pot-o-honey – ’cause I bet Piper is super sweet! All house panthers are. I’m not biased or anything having two myself. Happy Weekend All! ❤️
Bwaaa haa ha. I’ll lure them in by looking adorable in my honey pot and then … I’ll enslave into my minion army and take over the world!! Just like every bad super spy movie, lol.
Piper is gorgeous. My haus panther was sweet but had a spicy/mischevious side, his nickname was the little black bas…d.
Still cool and grey here, can’t believe it’s June. Heading to a potluck bbq with the car club later and then errands tomorrow. Found out at work they have hired people to fill the 2 vacant positions so I’m finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. Happy weekend everyone!
It’s was in the 70s the last few days but it’s a little breezy and not very humid so it feels cooler. Right now my little weather widget says 77 but it doesn’t feel like it. It also says rain tonight which I hope is true because my car is disgusting.
Good morning Piper, as a supervillain would you like a henchman? Because I’m about ready to give Skye away to the first bidder.
Just kidding but this week the little monster has found a way to chew through 2 eyeglasses cords, the cord of the home phone jack and the charging cord of my iPhone plus the cord of my alarm clock!
I told her the only reason she’s still alive is that she’s cute (and I love her but don’t tell her that). She’s over one year old now she can’t be teething and she doesn’t chew on anything else only cords the size of charging cables so I understand why she does that.
Other than that my husband and I are both sick with our first cold in 3 years, I forgot how miserable a chest cold can get.
Have a good weekend all.
Sympathize with the cord chewing, as that is a house bun’s favorite activity! I have to be uber careful about where cords go and having them stay out of reach cos cords CALL to bunnies to come chew them! I don’t know how many light/appliance cords my many buns have eviscerated since 1987, but it’s a LOT!
Piper – HONEY MONSTER!*

I’m counting down the hours to the first York Minster concert I’ve attended since the pre-Covid era, a Vaughan Williams programme including the Sea Symphony. I would have liked to hear Elgar’s “Dream of Gerontius” next Wednesday but due to a scheduling clash I’ll be leaving for a four-night stay in Haworth on that day. A couple of things to add to my packing reminder list: a small brush and a pack of wipes, as I want to photograph some ancestral graves in Haworth and the surrounding villages and they’ll probably be covered in a thick layer of dead leaves!
Black Panther is a superhero so Piper will just have to live with a life of derring-do to the cheers of an adoring public. I’m certainly one of them.
Piper, you have every right stay in bed today.
This week started off bad, but strangely enough, ended on a much more optimistic note.
We got two days of rain, which is helping with the forest fires and heat.
Car finally got fixed (with ugly bill).
Hubby’s work benefits kicked in, and we are catching up on self-care things like dental, optical, etc.
This should be the last month of nasty bills, allowing us to catch up in July.
FIL did NOT break hip in another fall.
BC’s best negotiator/arbitrator is stepping in to deal with our area’s transit strike.
I feel like a huge burden has been lifted from my shoulders. I actually tried to dance yesterday, and I’m grateful no one saw.
I finished my Father’s Day present yesterday, and it looks gorgeous. Tie clips for each season and holiday of the year. The gold, frankincense and myrrh one, for Christmas, is truly gorgeous.
Off to finish my tea and head out for a bit of shopping. Have a fantastic weekend, everyone.
PS Hubby wouldn’t share his tortilla chips on Thursday, so Duckie landed on his glasses and tried to pull out his eyebrow hairs.
Totally justified.
Duckie…you know the saying “TRY to dance like no one’s watching”? Just do it lol 🤣.
I’m totally amazed that Piper ignored the box that the bed came in. Or maybe there was no box. Or maybe this bed is actually awesome. 🤔
Hope everyone’s having a good weekend and staying safe. Bro was in Boston and had to wear a mask re: Canadian Fires.
I was wiped out, had to go back to the office for the first time since COVID in a new job. I’m hoping that being anxious about figuring out a new job is better than being anxious about finding a new job. Fingers crossed.
Being anxious about figuring out a new job is definitely better – you’re getting paid while doing that.
LOL. True.
Problem is, they expect you to show up every day and actually do work. Got used to not working and hanging out with the kitties very quickly
Been out all day…had a dentist appointment in the morning then went to the bookstore, got some tea and wandered, then Target (where I actually didn’t buy anything), then to my parents’ to check the mail (they left for Virginia this morning), which wasn’t there yet when I got there, so I went downstairs to pilfer a small box of tissues for my car (which I just realized I left on the kitchen table, but I’ll be back before they get home), then the doorbell rang and it was my brother picking up some stuff my dad left in the garage (he decided to ring the bell instead of potentially scaring me by letting himself in), then we chatted a bit, then he left and I sat on the deck and read for a little while (it was nice and quiet, and lovely weather), then I was getting hungry and I need to do some stuff so I came home.
Unfortunately I need to get a crown replaced and another one done (which she had been monitoring previously but it’s time) so I get to do that next month. Joy.
Piper looks fantastic in her supervillain lair! Yellow really sets off her coloring.
I’ve been out all day at the Estes Park Wool Market. Yes, I overspent my allotted amount. Do I mind? Not at all! It was a glorious day up in the mountains when I arrived in the morning. After touring all the animal barns, I went into the marketplace. Then we got out daily thunderstorm and the heavens just opened up. I suspect that the vendors made a special plea for rain because everybody came inside.
In the llama barn, I met a delightful pure white llama named Dot. Her people brought her out on a halter to meet everybody, and she came over to me and wrapped her neck around mine. Llama hugs are really wonderful. She was giving kisses to other people. I would very much like to have a llama but it probably won’t work in a condo.
Hugs to you all!
