Welcome to the Caturday open thread! Today we have a return visit from Skye and Storm, who have “cornered the market on cute poses,” according to submitterator Georgiana Y.:
Here Storm is showing the white spot on her belly, I don’t know if it was there before because I got her just after she was spaded but the white fur is right where the incision was.
Now it’s just my opinion but I think Skye is the cutest cat in the world, I mean look at that face!
Bonus Cuteness: While out and about, reader Elizabeth G. snapped this little green lizard. “I do believe he was giving me side eye,” sage says.
The white mark on Storm *does* look like it’s from the surgery scar!( I zoomed in.)
Skye does have an incredibly cute face that says “pet me?” My sister has a foster named Noodles who looks like Skye. He is *the* sweetest kitty🥰
My niece Luisa would love the lizard, he does appear to be throwing some shade😆
Folks, please keep my Theo in your thoughts. He is 9 1/2 and he had some kind of seizure last Sunday. Couldn’t walk. He’s still having trouble this week, even on the carpet squares I put down for him. I can’t take him to the vet til Monday—the emergency animal clinic has no idea what to do with rabbits🙄. I don’t know what is wrong, but I’m worried. He’s eating and drinking just fine.🙁
I usually don’t comment on Saturdays but after reading this, I know it had to be so scary to watch Theo having a seizure. I recall when my Leo had one, fortunately he was okay afterwards. And it’s so true, many animal ERs and clinics don’t know how to properly treat rabbits. I’ll be thinking about you and Theo. Please give us an update after getting him to the vet.
I understand how worried you must be, I hope Theo make a complete recovery keep us posted on his condition.
To Theo: 🙏💕
Sending positive energy to Theo and you!
We’re sending you both lots of healing purrs and good energy. If he’s eating and drinking, that’s a good sign.
Eating and drinking is good! And Luv Bunny’s Leo was OK after a seizure! But hugely upsetting – not being able to talk to them about their illness/hurt makes it so much worse. I have my fingers and toes crossed for you both.
SO sorry to hear about Theo.
Thinking good thoughts for you all. Know that Monday feels so far away.
Happy Caturday! Storm and Skye are beautiful as always.
It’s a work-on-Sunday week again…seems like the last one was just a week or two ago…otherwise need to do chores and whatnot and cook some chicken in my fridge.
Sounds scary, 6Rabbits…hope Theo is okay..
Saw this the other day and was reminded of one of the links from the last week…
😂😂😂😂😂
How do you cook a chicken in a fridge?😉
lol
Good morning all!
Skye and Storm are in their usual form… adorable.
And Mr Lizard I’ll have you know I have climbed a wall or two in my lifetime. 😁
Such cuties and yes. that is some shady side eye being thrown by Mr. Lizard. I always love seeing Storm and Skye, it’s a great start to the weekend. Fingers crossed for Theo and a good outcome to the vet visit. It’s hard seeing our companions not themselves.
Going to a Lego convention today. Not sure what to expect besides seeing some interesting sets that people have built. I’m always amazed at what other people can imagine and then the hard part, actually make it reality. The crafty/creative gene pretty much bypassed me. I have great ideas but once I try to execute them, just never comes out the way I thought/want. So be it, I’ll just admire and cheer on those that can. Errands and cleaning/organizing for the other part of the weekend. Finally got rid of the desk with no drawers in the living room and replaced it with a file cabinet/radio stand. Now I’ll no excuse NOT to file papers when they come in. Open mail, trash that, save this – open drawer and file, and done. Ilove efficiency. Happy weekend everyone!
Georgiana – I don’t know how you can bear to leave the house when you live with two such adorable cats. 6rabbits – I hope Theo will be back to his old self very soon.
I returned to the Shortcakery yesterday after an enjoyable but tiring week in Whitby. One funny thing I noticed: quite a few of the seagulls were juveniles with brown and white plumage, but the same size as (and sometimes fatter than) their parents. They were still pestering the adult birds for food, and although seagulls don’t have the most expressive faces I suspect the parents were thinking something like “You’re nearly 32, we want you out of the basement by the end of next month”.
It must be good to be home, no matter how much you enjoyed your trip. LOLing at the seagulls.
It’s my babies and a cute lizard!
It’s a very good thing that Skye is so very cute because the little monster as been chewing wires again! She’s a year old now shouldn’t the chewing phase be over by now?
So I had my operation on Monday and the only thing that hurt was the injections to numb my hand, after that I felt nothing. The bandage is not as big as I feared, it does covers my hand down to my wrist but it leaves most of my fingers free so I can pick-up small things, type and use my computer mouse. I’m seeing the surgeon next Wednesday and he should change the big bandage for a big plaster band-aid.
I’ll be keeping Theo in my thoughts 6rabbits.
Have a good weekend all.
Glad the surgery went so well, Georgiana! I hope you regain full movement soon.
^ Ditto to what DebG said!
Happy Caturday, especially to our lovely spokesmodels and bonus lizard! Storm and Skye melt my heart every time I see them. Lav is sitting on my lap as I (try to) type–she says hello.
My tumultuous weeks continue but there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Our new website launches on Tuesday (hopefully). My new TV gets delivered on Monday–treating myself to UHD and a new sound bar! Next weekend is Labor Day weekend, when I hope to reupholster the cushions on my couch, which I’ve wanted to do for over 8 years. Then the following week, my new countertops and sink get installed. Since they initially told me it would be October before I could finish the kitchen project, I’m very happy.
And the week after that is my birthday!
Skye and Storm, I could really use some cuddles from you right now.
Buried FIL ashes yesterday. Simple ceremony, just children and grandchildren, and a bagpipe tribute. Got home, found letter from government informing us that, since FIL was still legally married at time of passing, all benefits go to his estranged wife, even though WE applied for the benefits, THEY were separated for seven years and WE paid for the funeral. Right now I’m so mad I could …
Calm. I am calm.
One funny thing from yesterday. The piper, who, in a convoluted manner is family, allowed me to try the bagpipes. I was moderately successful, in that I produced real notes and not sounds that alerted vets, interested dogs and made cats run for cover. So now I can cross another item off my bucket list.
We had some rain in BC last week, and the fire situation is getting under control. Still bad, but people are being allowed to return to their towns, and not everything was burned. Communities are getting together to help out, and this weekend is the last of the heat for us.
6Rabbits, Theo is in my thoughts and prayers. Everyone, try and have a good weekend, and take care.
Duckie, so sorry about all the family drama that you didn’t expect. The ceremony for your FIL sounds lovely.
Very unfortunate turn of events with the benefits. Is there a chance said EX will do the right thing here?? At least compensate you for the funeral expenses??
I’m glad the smoke and fire situation is calming down a bit for you. But looks like it is Hay River’s turn. ☹️
Happy Caterday! I’m traveling in a 6hour different time zone so all of my regular check in are way off. 6rabbits, I hope all work out for your little guy. Georgiana, glad the surgery went better than expected.
