Good bye and thanks for all the fish! And so considerate too, cleaning up and leaving a note. Most cats just go to the mothership without so much as a bye-you-leave. Ooh, just noticed, cat is tethered, guess who won’t be going far unless “owner” goes with as well.

I always suspected Minkette, my house panther, was on an exploratory mission and was reporting to the mothership. She just pretended not to understand what I said. She would sit on the table next to my dish and carefully sniff everything. She wanted to eat only some of it, but sometimes weird things, like vegetables.
Once, when I was eating an orange on the couch, she came over and sniffed it, and recoiled. She looked at me, shocked, as though she was saying ARE YOU INSANE? Cats really don’t like citrus..
Does the mothership take people? I have a few I’d like the mothership to take…
