Minnie is very pretty, and I’m sure Georgiana *does* look like an angel when she sleeps!

      😆

I most definitely do NOT look like an angle when I sleep ROTFL!!

Such a cutie! Love the crossed paws.

    • 6rabbits September 16, 2023 / 9:48 am

Yes, the paws under chin are adorable 💕

Aww! I love the folded paw action. It looks so innocent, but you know the murder mittens are poised to spring into action at the slightest provocation – such as an ill-advised nose boop…

Over the past week I’ve been taking advantage of the glorious weather and ultra-cheap bus fares to visit coastal resorts and picturesque villages. On Thursday I went to Scarborough for the first time since childhood (a caravan holiday I can’t really remember), and after a paddle and a trip on the Victorian tramcar lift from the beach to the town I sought out the grave of Anne Bronte. The stone is almost unreadable after 174 years of exposure to wind and rain, but a modern marble tablet contains the original inscription and corrects a mistake. Despite the graveyard’s out-of-the-way location there was a steady stream of visitors, and someone had left a postcard reproduction of Emily’s painting of Anne’s spaniel Flossie. Were the trees not in leaf it would have been possible to see the gloriously OTT Grand Hotel (once the largest hotel in Europe!), built on the site of the boarding house where Anne died in 1849.

To continue the literary theme, I also spent a rather weird day in Whitby. Although the morning mist soon cleared over the town itself, the seafront remained shrouded in a fog
so thick and Gothic I half-expected to see the “Demeter” come sailing into the harbour!

I love your literary trips especially the Whitby seafront in the fog, Stoker’s book holds a special place in my heart.

The fog didn’t lift until about 5.15 in the afternoon…when I was waiting for the bus back to York!

These travelogues are lovely, Alice. Keep ’em coming!

Feline poetic talents are shockingly underrated and it’s good to see this fine example, but I cannot agree with Mr Bilston’s interpretation of “###################”. This is clearly a reference to climate change and its effect on tuna.

      I love this so much.

I cannot tell you how many times I will see that on my slack or teams.

At least I typically put it on myself so I’m the only one who gets these masterpieces.

Minnie says thanks for the all compliments.

The weather has finally cooled here and it’s starting to feel like Fall, yesterday I actually had to put on shoes and socks instead of sandals for the first time since June!

The hand is getting better but there is still some pain and stiffness, they did say it could take 6 weeks or more after the operation to heal completely, I’m just impatient to get back to my routine I guess.

Hope everyone has a good weekend and to those in the path of the storm Lee be careful and stay safe.

When I hurt my wrist last December, the doctor advised squeezy balls and grip strengtheners for the muscles in my lower arms. Would those help at all? Or hot wax baths for the stiffness?

It’s tough to live life one-handed.

My birthday buddy! Minnie looks adorable and very youthful for her age. (So do I.)

It’s good to hear that people are healing, enjoying cooler weather, and traveling to fun places. I’m about to head out to The Wild Animal Sanctuary–planned to go yesterday but the weather forecast called for thunderstorms. The storms never came and it would have been perfect weather, but c’est la vie. I am hoping to see Hank (Henrietta) the Tank, the bear moved from Lake Tahoe because she kept breaking into people’s houses.

Hugs to you all on Caturday, the best day of the week.

Miss Minnie, you are divinely floofy.
It’s the weekend and I’m not sure how I feel about that.
Duckie’s still moulting, and she’s embarrassed about her lack of balance. Poor itty bitty baby blue budgie. She’s very scruffy looking, and looks like a winter sunset: blue feathers, pink skin and white fuzz.
Several members of my family have COVID, much to my dismay. We’re not sure where it came from, so we’re all delicately avoiding each other. I’m worried about my parents; dad is fragile from almost daily absent seizures and medications, and mom is exhausted. My Covid test today was negative.
BUT, I have a medium size piece of good news. Last December, I made a New Year’s resolution to do more writing. Sometimes I had to force myself to free write; other times my fingers could barely keep up with my thoughts. And now (drum roll), I have two manuscripts ready to send in, as soon as I can find an agent! The two are so different from each other that I’m not sure how they’ll go, but…
Hubby told me that I will have work at the mall for the shopping season. I’m not sure how I feel about that; I didn’t like being so confined last year, but we can always use the extra money, and it’s kind of nice to be asked if I will work for them. Sort of a reverse application.
Off to take my morning pharmacy, and then go play in craft stores.
    Have a fantastic weekend, everyone.

Fantastic on the manuscripts!😁 What are the books about?
I used to work at the mall during the fall/winter holidays, and I always thought it a better time of year to work. Maybe the cheery atmosphere? Or people were generally nicer?

One book is about River Song from Doctor Who, which I need to get to the BBC somehow, and the other is an off-shoot of Frances Hodgsen Burnett’s “A Little Princess “.

        • 6rabbits September 16, 2023 / 8:29 pm

          Cool!☺️

        • Georgiana September 16, 2023 / 11:39 pm

River Song is my favorite character on Doctor Who.

          • Duckie 🐥 September 17, 2023 / 2:31 pm

            Mine, too.

My 13yr old polydactyl tuxie got a new nickname. The other day, I woke from an afternoon nap and wondered where the tiny, plush panda came from. I was looking at Michaux’s paws. He has mostly black toe beans, so his paws were looking back at me. He is now “panda-paws”.

    • DEBG September 16, 2023 / 8:32 pm

Oh that sounds so sweet! Photos, please!
