And finally: Don’t Forget the Turtle Wax
Murray C. brings us a pampered tortoise.
Gotta say, that tortoise is dang cute! And very lucky to have such a human👍🏼
I wouldn’t mind BEING that baby tortoise. That’s a very nice life
Yeah, I’m kinda jealous. A lovely day, every day–just like Barbie!

3D cat TV – love the tails!
I love Fig and his hats.
OMG
The mohair fringe. The ear fluff. The whiskers. I am slain.
Right there with you.
I hope that toddler’s dogs get big big treats. She’s a lucky kid.
About to say, if those were my dogs they’d be eating steak for the month or six.
Peanuts the cat does look a little bit like a bunny. I rescued a semi feral kitten years ago who had the same interest in toes as Peanuts. She wouldn’t let us touch her for weeks after we got her but would slowly creep up to our feet to gently bite our toes. She eventually became a cuddle bug but she never lost her love for toe biting.
Love the way the tortoise stamped his tiny foot when they put flower hats on him.
So I had a doctor appointment this morning and just as I was getting ready to leave the house they called and said they needed to reschedule because the building is on fire. So how’s your day going?
Better than theirs.
Yikes. At least you weren’t there during the fire.
Visions of the receptionist frantically calling every patient booked for that day whilst a burly fireman tries to hoist her over his shoulder and carry her down a ladder…
Luckily for her, she was in a different building (actually a different town all together because she was calling from a south Jersey area code). The practice has several locations and scheduling is all done from one place (some kind of call center, I think).
I can’t get too annoyed, because, y’know, fire, but I was hoping this would help with some of my anxiety by ruling some things out, and now I have to wait another two weeks. On the up side, my clogged ears (which were a secondary reason for the appointment) have been better the past few days, so at least I can hear my alarm in the morning.
I went out anyway to do the errands I was going to do after the appointment, and drove past (okay, it was a little out of my way, but I went to Starbucks as an excuse to go that way) and I think I counted one ambulance, one police car, and five fire trucks in the parking lot. Then while waiting at a light further up the road, another fire truck turned the corner and headed that direction (though I suppose they could have been going somewhere else). Lights on but no siren so I guess they weren’t in too much of a hurry.
I texted my boss to tell him (because he was nagging me to make the appointment and asked me to let him know how it went) and he sent me this:
South Jersey? Have they rounded up the local perps?

Ha!
I love Beaker so much.
True story: a few weeks ago, I came home to find an actual dumpster fire in the parking lot of the retirement home behind me. Fire trucks were there and everything. I thought “dumpster fire” was just an expression.
In 2001 we had a 6.8 earthquake with loss of power, cell towers, etc and we still had patients showing up for their allergy shots. Like, we have no computers, no phones, and we’re picking stuff up off the floors. Go home, lol!
If she had called two minutes later I would have been in the car and not answered. But I wouldn’t even have been able to get into the parking lot, I’m sure.
