Yeah, it’s supposed to be a rainy day here, too. Though I don’t think it’s raining at the moment. I need to go get some salad stuff for my mom’s birthday dinner tonight (thought I had enough but I was wrong, but it was kinda late by the time I realized that), and pick up the We Rate Dogs puzzle I ordered for her. And get a birthday card. Wasn’t sure the puzzle would come in time, but I got an email late last night that it came in.

Gray day here in the Philly area – amazing contrast from yesterday with one of those extra clear, bright, and crisp fall days. Need to run some errands and clean. Maybe lots of kitty cuddles this evening.

Haircut today, and errands. Other than that not much going on this weekend. Weather is kinda grey and cool right now but supposed to warm up again. I just looked and the high tomorrow is supposed to be 91. Blech!

Minnie has never liked to cuddle with the other cats, but now that she’s 17 she sleeps more deeply and Skye manages to get close and nap with her.
Minnie likes people not other cats, when we have people over she will go from one person to the next to get pets, doesn’t matter if she knows the person or not and doesn’t take no for an answer! 😂😂
I like that Skye won’t take no for an answer! I was surprised to see them together, based on what you said about inter-cat dynamics. They’re just lovely together.

Tomorrow, weather permitting, I’m going to paint the new gateposts in the back yard. They’re not quite the same size as the old ones so I’ll also have to paint a small section of newly-exposed wall. One of the internal doors also needs to be sanded and painted before I get new handles for every door in the house. That just leaves a shelf to be fitted in the dining room (I’m on the carpenter’s waiting list!) and, barring a couple of small jobs my usual handyman can do, the Shortcakery will have completed its transformation. It took longer than expected, but when I think of the ton of work I was faced with at the beginning of the year I feel as though I’ve accomplished a lot!
It must feel like a whole new house. Congrats on everything you’ve done.

Hubby and I both have colds; multiple Covid tests all negative. I’m getting flu/Covid shots on 24th.
Looks like I’m back to work first week of November. Part time till Christmas. Can’t believe how time is flying.
Duckie back to her usual self. Dive bombing hubby, hanging upside down, demanding treats.
Third writing project almost finished. I’m transcribing a journal belonging to my BFF’s father, that he wrote when he was teaching up north Quebec in early sixties. She’s going to turn it into a scrapbook type thing, with all the pictures, maps, etc from that time, and give it to him, in large print, for Christmas. She doesn’t have the time or patience to try and read his handwriting and type it out, so I offered.
Big points redemption shopping day coming up. Looking forward to all the free stuff.

These beautiful girls and that fantastic Boston terrier in the daisies have about convinced me to go back to bed! I had trouble getting to sleep last night, so it’s justified.
Getting COVID and flu shots in about 2 hours, so I’m planning a quiet weekend. I want to finish some knitting projects–at last–and get back to my loom. Also I must figure out my sweater storage needs: rollout bins under the bed are just not optimal anymore. I have enough space in my bathroom for better storage options, once I sort through the (very many) sweaters and calculate what I need. This is the problem with knitting: I make a lot of sweaters and then I can’t bear to part with them.

If either of you can fit into them, you can have them. They tend to be about 36″ to 40″ bust and slim in the waist (made back when I had a figure where everything wasn’t regressing toward the mean). Duckie, you know how to reach me. Dubravkamcvmd, if you’re interested, Mike can put us in touch.
Glad you’re getting your shots, I have to wait until November and I STILL may not be able to get it then.
Submitted my info yesterday so hopefully I won’t get rejected. Worry that they’ll be out of both by then at the other places.
I need to do those, too. They did flu shots at work last week but I wasn’t there that day. And last year when I got a covid booster I had a panic attack so I’m not sure I can handle getting them at the same time. I’ll probably do the flu first and ask about covid. I’ve gotten Pfizer every time so far so I kind of want to stick with that. Apparently the CVS near work carries it, but not the one near where I live. It doesn’t look like the hospital is doing their vaccine clinics anymore (they do pop-up type things around town but I don’t see anything at the hospital like they did in the past).
Feel your pain! I’ve drawers of scarves, blankets and now, shawls!
