Bailey the golden retriever has played with many kittens, but none as feisty and playful as Simon, a kitten who treats Bailey as his own chew/pounce/kick toy.

Baily and Simon match!
Bailey is a saint.
No kidding! I wonder if all goldens are like that?
My cousin had a Golden Retriever when his daughter was born. If they brought her baby carrier in he would check to make sure she was in it, and sleep next to her crib. There is a picture of her sitting propped against his side when she was an infant, looking like the happiest little girl in the world (they did the same setup with their son a couple years later; he didn’t look quite as thrilled).
I’ve never met a golden who wasn’t a big ball of love. My friend lost her Teddy last spring, and I still cry over that darling dog.
6RABBITS, we’ve had 2 Goldens, my son and his family have a Golden, and I know dozens of people with Goldens. EVERYONE SAYS THE SAME THING! “Greatest dog ever! Gentle with young kids and other animals. They live to make you happy!”
I used to breed rabbits and when I had several litters one year, I brought the babies into the house and placed them on the couch so that I could spend some quality time with them and make them great pets because I got them used to human touch. I turned around for a second and when I looked back my Golden was gently placing his front paws on the couch, being careful to not step on the babies running around. Then he gently placed his back paws up there, being so careful, looking around to make sure he wasn’t going to step on the bunnies. Only when all the bunnies were away from him did he finally lay down. Then I watch as he lays there, a big smile on his face as the dozen or so bunnies are running up and down this 85 lb dog.
I’ve had other dogs, but the Golden is my favorite. The ones we had were gentle, loving, obedient, and trustworthy.
Wow! That is amazing! I would have loved seeing the little buns with a golden. No wonder goldens are so popular!
I’m sorry to say that, owing to irresponsible breeding and poor training, they are not. I have no doubt that responsibly bred and properly trained Golden Retrievers are as angelic as Bailey and Tucker Budzyn, to name only two we love here in Cutetropolis. But out there in the real world, stuff—sometimes un-Cute stuff—happens.
☹️
Peeps, just want to say that Deb G gave me one of her hand knitted sweaters, along with six adorable little dolls that I paid her to knit, and everything is BEAUTIFUL! Public shout out to Deb!
Pictures?
These are the dolls.

She made them nekkid and faceless, so I can have the fun of creating and dressing. SO looking forward to this.
How adorable!! Enjoy the creative process. Thank you Deb!
Wow! I crochet, and can do it tiny, but knitting is out of my league! Just beautiful!
You’re so sweet.
If this works, you can see the nekkid dolls here:

Commence pearl-clutching! (Also awe at your skills.)
I think Bailey got a little feed up with having his ears chewed but they both seem to enjoy playing with each other. Simon going after the camera at the end made me LOL.
Simon is clearly trouble waiting to happen–in the best possible way. Bailey is such a good foster mom.
