Need all the cute today to put me in a good mood. My neighborhood sounded like a war zone last night starting around 6:30 pm and didn’t stop until around 2 am. My poor dogs had nowhere to hide as it was literally every side of the house – in front, neighbors across the valley from us, behind us our other neighbors and on the side with the bedrooms, more people at the corner. One baby was under the covers with me, and the other was under the bed. Everyone is so tired, glad I don’t have to go to work today and can just recouperate. Going to go make some biscotti now, maybe go to a movie later.
I was pleasantly surprised that the fireworks were pretty minimal around here, and not super close to my building (no idiot neighbors in the parking lot, thank dog). I heard them at what I assumed to be midnight (I went to bed around 11:30 but I don’t fall asleep that quickly), and they didn’t go on super long, and I had music playing which helped block them out a bit.
So sorry for all the scary noise, AJ. Hugs to the pups.

It was relatively quiet here last night, but I still slept on the couch beside Duckie until 12:30.
My New Year’s resolution is to pay off our line of credit completely. This is going to require some budgeting, and a bit of sacrifice on my part (so many books). But it can be done.

May 2024 be a great year of joy, hope and warm furry cuteness.
Last night was fairly calm, hoping that was fireworks that I heard all night. Most anxious moment was when my neighbor thought that there was a fire between our units but the firemen showed up and found no warm spots. We’d had a unit go up in flames in February down the hall so we’re all a little anxious at the smell of burning things.
Now I have saurkraut and pork slowly cooking on the stove. I kind that I identify as Pennsylvania Dutch but really I do.
Happy New Year to everyone from Nikolai Devinovich and Ekaterina Velikaya! His New Year’s resolution is to get over the fact that his little sister is now way bigger than him. Her resolution is to be less passive aggressive in using her size to gradually push him off the top of the cat tree.
My resolution is to get more pictures of their antics! Wishing the world a safer happier 2024.
