Yes, that is the thought of all pets when they want cuddles. On their demand, not yours๐
Beautiful cat!
Thanks for the reminder kitty. No looking at work emails (not that I ever do after work hours, lol) . And with such a cute face, I’ll gladly give you scritches and pets.
Off to the home design and services expo today. Everything and anything for the home. Need a landscaper.? Want someone to build you a patio or outdoor kitchen? Looking for some ideas on fixing up the bath? They’ll all be there. Not thatI plan n doing anything on the house this year. After A/C repairs and building steps, I’m done doing anything big for the house this year. May go thrift shopping tomorrow. I’m bored with all my tops so I’ll see if I find anything that I like and donate the other tops back. Cheapest way I know to refresh my wardrobe, lol. Happy weekend everyone!
I need a new kitchen..!
I can only imagine that contractors will be booked up for the next several years, rebuilding LA. Glad you took care of the big stuff already!
I want to bury my face in that cat’s fur (after providing pets and treats, just to be on the safe side).
There was an amusing incident at the Shortcakery yesterday. I dozed off in the living room and awoke to the sight of a large red and yellow object apparently descending from the sky into the back yard. In my semi-conscious state all I could think was that a crane might be mistakenly dropping construction materials into my yard rather than the one next door, where the house is being extensively renovated. I jumped to my feet, put my glasses on…and realised that the mystery object was a cherry picker being used to repair a telephone line in the adjoining street!
In other news, I’m looking forward to my first 2025 theatre trip tomorrow – a touring production of ‘The Nutcracker’.
Thats too funny about the cherry picker. The things we do when half asleep or without wearing our glasses, lol. Reminds me of an incident years ago, I woke up in my apartment in the wee hours of the night and thought someone was standing outside my window staring in. I was halfway to the front door before the brain kicked in and told me Idiot! you’re on the 4th floor and have no balcony. Turned out to be shadows from the tree outside. The Nutcracker sounds fun, enjoy!
I have at times addressed brown paper bags sitting on the floor as my cats.
to be fair, your cats could’ve been in the bags.
And they were orangey cats, not much different in color from the bags.
I have a three-day weekend this week; I always wake up on Caturday thinking it’s Bunday…
The dogs were so good this week, there are fifteen of them!
Snowy day with Olive and Mabel
Loved watching Mabel run alongside! Was the camera on her tocks?
Happy Caturday, everyone! Why would *anybody* work when a kitty needs petting?
And I’m about to find out again how hard it is to resist a cute cat at your computer. This weekend, I’m moving my office into my (large) bedroom. I’m hoping to solve several problems at once: clear out my great room, spend more time with Lavender, and reset the cat dynamics within my herd. Lavender moved into my main bath and closet last June, when I had company. She has barely come out of the closet since then, unless I’m doing yoga in my bedroom. This means a lot less cuddle time with me. Finally, this week, she worked up the nerve to crawl into bed with me for short periods of intense cuddles. But my territorial Scorpius and Fred have been bullying her in retaliation. So in addition to moving furniture, I’m adding at least one screen door to the main suite, giving Lav some security from the bullies. We’ll see how that all goes.
Lav used to sit on my lap all day when I worked from home. If she can do that again, even in small doses, she’ll be happier.
Happy Caturday to you all. Stay safe and warm, wherever you are.
Wow! The dogs WERE extra good this week. Happy weekend to them as well as everyone.
I could use the farm dog from earlier this week to help me today. I havenโt felt this disinclined since post-op from my last surgery. I know why Iโm so worn out: too much thinking. So many plans going through my mind that I canโt keep up.
My only objective for the coming week is to buy a printer.
Off to the library. Have an awesome weekend, everyone.
It’s been a week since Minnie pasted away and I’m trying to get back to normal but I still feel her lost keenly.
Thank goodness I have Skye and Storm in the house to distract me, Skye in particular has started getting closer to me, she now comes and sleep beside me on the sofa in the evening something she never used to do.
I know it will get better with time and I try to think of things that we can now do because we don’t have to be home in time to give Minnie her pills twice a day like we did for the past 3 years maybe even take a little overnight trip this summer.
Hugs, Georgiana. Skye knows you’re hurting and she wants you to feel better. Grief lasts a long time.
Weโre here for you, Georgiana.
