Yes, yes we are. Can I be a cat?
(Not sure if anyone is catching trains in NJ today, though. The strike is over but apparently regular service won’t resume until tomorrow.)
I swear my cats used to glare at me, rolled over and told me to turn off the light when I left.
Oh to be a cat today, because that post is how my morning went. After riding the train, I get to my station and the elevators to the street level were not working. Mind you, this is like one of two stops on this particular line that are not at street level so I had to hoof it up a flight of stairs. Not the exercise I wanted at 7:30 am. The copier was not cooperating, I just had lunch at my desk and I’m trying to stay awake. Time to call a do-over and try again tomorrow!
yesterday was THAT day for me.
My 5:58 flight home was posted at first for half an hour, then a full hour, and then two.
After THREE hours the passengers boarded the plan that was to take us back and then went back to the gate to deplane due to Mechanical failure. so then we had to wait an hour to hopefully find another plane and then board again. THEN take off.
At this point we had run out of food and drink as the local places closed and the ‘applesauce cart’ was empty.
When they landed we applauded and they acted grumpy, which we didn’t take well because , hey, there were home and we had been waiting FOR THEM!!
anyway, left around 1030pm and finally when we landed, had to wait at the gate because the deplaning equipment wasn’t working and they had to repair that.
At that point we were so late that the interterminal trains weren’t working but we couldn’t get to to main terminal, practically fighting to get on the little train there.
then on the way home, a motorcycle wreck blocked three lanes of traffic.
So while i had hoped to get home by 9pm, I got home at 2am.
I understandably slept through my alarm this morning
ugh! what an ordeal. My sympathies!
I’m exhausted just from having read this. Yikes!
😳 Good Grief! I totally sympathize, and am glad I rarely have to get on a plane! I hope you got to work okay this A.M.🌹
So sorry for all this. It’s like a race to the bottom to travel anymore–everybody at the airlines seems intent on making it dreadful.
