Fiona the preemie hippo has passed another milestone. Under the supervision of her care team, Fiona is spending time with her mother with no barrier between them. Mother Bibi seems to welcome her daughter, while Fiona is very curious.

Team Fiona at the Cincinnati Zoo continue to prepare Fiona for her eventual public debut, with visits to the outdoor pool where she will live. After one such session, the headstrong baby decided to run off by herself!

Fiona the preemie hippo is taking her next big step towards a normal life with her parents. Her care team has introduced her to the outdoor pool after operating hours, with employees playing the part of the adoring public.
And here’s Fiona, looking sassy for spring in this custom-tailored cardboard ensemble by Mr. Foxy of Beverly Hills. Team Fiona has been introducing the blorpy baby to a variety of enrichment experiences, and cardboard appears to be her current favorite.
