“Ah — welcome, Professor LeStrange. I trust your journey from Cairo was an uneventful one. I regret that we must meet in such a remote location, but my employers are most desirous to avoid unwanted attention. So, the lost squeaky toy of Tutankhamun — you have brought it, have you not?”

Fezzes are cool.
Why yes! Yes they are!
Remind me never to do business with a Corgi in a fez.
Bow ties are cool, too.
No Doctor River Song reference? I’m sure she was in on the dig…
River: “What in the name of sanity have you got on your head??”
Shades of Indiana Jones! And what’s funnier is the nickname was from Jones’ dog as a kid, so maybe THIS is the really Indiana Jones.
Sam Spade: [impatiently] Now, let’s *talk* about the black bird.
Kasper Gutman: Let’s. Mr. Spade, have you any conception of how much money can be got for that black bird?
Sam Spade: No.
Kasper Gutman: Well, sir, if I told you… If I told you *half*… you’d call me a liar.
Thank you for reading my mind. 😉
I have absolutely no clue what you’re talking about! I await enlightenment.☺️
Faye is sharing some dialog from the classic detective movie “The Maltese Falcon” starring Humphrey Bogart as Sam Spade.
Mike, can I change my email address any time? Verizon address is about to become obsolete.
Yes, just type in a new address the next time you comment.
Thank you, Murray. I was too embarrassed to ask what this meant.
Well, I’ve certainly seen the movie but not enough to remember dialogue. I am impressed, Faye! The main thought I had during the whole thing was why would anyone want that ugly statue. They really could’ve done better with the sculpting of the silly thing. (I forget – did it have something inside of it?)
They never actually say, the movie ends with one guy asking “What is it?” and Bogart answers “The stuff that dreams are made of”
The secret to success: take anything that looks like a quote, paste it into google, then pretend like you’re super wordly and get all the references.
How do you think people here think I’m so smart? 😉
How terribly clever! I have gotten better and googled things – like Mothra – but to google a phrase never occurred to me.
“Carrying charges, dear boy. Carrying charges.” :casually-yet-forcefully wields flyswatter:
10-cent cosplay for the win! Nicely done.
Heh! There’s a Cat-in-the-Hat book behind Dog-in-the-Hat
Good eye! I didn’t see that. I bet behind it, there’s a tiny mouse in an even tinier fez and bow tie.
I’ve always wanted a fez-dispenser.
