And Now, Bob Ross’ “The Joy Of Painting” Reenacted by a Squirrel

“Hello! Welcome to the program. For the next thirteen weeks, we’re going to learn how to paint trees: walnut trees, pecan trees, almond trees, cashew trees, all kinds of trees. I believe that anyone can paint nut trees, even if they’re only a little bit nuts. We’re going to start with a small squirrel-hair brush, which I plucked just this morning…”

Courtesy submitter Alison, it’s This Girl Is A Squirrel, a rescue named Jill who loves to pose on Instagram. That’s her paw print in the painting! (Sorry, can’t do hovertexts with Instagram’s embedding method.)

Happy little trees! Making a Thanksgiving turkey out of Jill’s pawprint was just brilliant!!

Gawd, I love me some Bob Ross. Did you know his hair wasn’t naturally curly but he chose to get it permed to save money on upkeep and cut down on frequency of haircuts? Amazing.

While pot isn’t yet legalized in Canada, it is very prevalent in Vancouver. I get to save my pennies and stay legal, though, because I get *my* mellow from Bob Ross re-runs. An episode right before bed fixes me up for a nice, relaxed sleep… zzzzzz!

Yeah, it’s the tail poking up in just the right place to mimic the Ross ‘fro that makes the whole thing work.

Awww, that video is so perfect for this post. I have a big wire across my yard. It is so much fun to watch the squirrels use it as a highway.

I had the same thing growing up! Telephone lines in the back yard running between two spruce trees and the squirrels used to do high wire acrobatics – just to entertain me (or so I thought, being the spoiled, only child that I was back then!)

    Pretty cute!

Twitch ran a monster marathon of Bob Ross about a month ago to launch their creative channel. Took about 8 days to run all 400+ episodes back-to-back. It was fun to check in to see how he’d changed over time. Now they run a mini-marathon every Monday, one whole season starting at about 4pm Pacific.
