The Cattail Cafe regrets to announce that its popular stir-fry special has been temporarily canceled. It seems that what’s in the pan right now isn’t stirring, and we have to wait for it to wok out on its own.
Via Imgur: “Spent 10 minutes looking for my cat before I went to bed, found him asleep in a wok on top of the freezer.”
I’m not sure what’s funnier, ntmtom’s puntastick story or the owner’s matter-of-fact explanation.
Cat’s gonna wake up and go “I had the weirdest night…I dreamed I was a prawn!”
?
I love General Tao’s kitten! It has bite and claws!
this ability to curl up and sleep comfortably wherever and whenever is a superpower I will forever envy.
The fact that they even thought to look in the wok on top of the freezer shows they’ve lived with cats for a long time (I was going to say “owned” but…you know…)
I hope Kitty doesn’t shift over too far to the right or both kitty and wok can end up behind the refrigerator!
That’s a good point! (and welcome to the site, new commenter!)
Although, if the wok has flat bottom, which is the case for most woks I see in stores, kitty has at least some protection.
I once found the boycat in the freezer (he was maybe 4 months old). Couldn’t have been more than a few minutes but he never tried that again!
Had a friend’s cat end up in the fridge, another time in the fish tank. Mine I used to find anywhere dark – the linen cupboard, the closet shelf, a few times in the dryer (learned to make sure the door was closed at all times) – or loved sleeping in the bathroom sink.
We once spent 15 minutes looking for him after some friends of my parents had left. My dad (the guy who hates cats) was freaking out thinking he’d gotten out the door when they were leaving. Finally I found him in the closet where they keep extra blankets and pillows and such (so it doesn’t get opened all that often). My mom had gone in there for something, he slipped in under the bottom shelf, and got shut in. So he took a nap. ?
I once shared an apartment in New York with a roommate who once left for work after me. When I got home 8 hours later, I could hear my cat but could not find him. After following the sound of his meow to a cabinet inside a closet, there he was. He ran first to his litter box, and then to his water dish. I got such a scolding from him! The roomie was in a hurry and forgot to check to see where the Lukecat was before shutting the cabinet and closet doors and he was closed in the whole day long. He never forgot it and never took naps in the closet again!
Aww! Poor baby! There was one time Stripes did get out and was out all night because it got too dark to keep looking for him. He came back the next day and ran straight for the food bowl. He stayed away from open doors for a while after that.
I have lost count of how many times I have look all over the house for one of my cats only to find then in the most unlikely places. Once, after my husband and I had spent an hour looking everywhere for her, we found Bindy IN THE CEILING!
Best one was a boyfriend’s cat. They were doing laundry and while moving clothes from washer to dryer, somehow kitty jumped in the dryer and no one saw it (black cat). They turned on the dryer and left. Then they heard it – thump, thump, MEWROW, thump, thump, MEWROW. Ran back and let the cat out, poor baby was fluffed up to twice her size, being a typical cat she walked away with her tail held high and acting as if she meant to go for a ride in the dryer. I laugh everytime I think of that story.
My cat’s favorite hiding place for whenever someone rings the doorbell is the basement ceiling. It’s always the first place I look for him now!
My dad replaced the bathroom fan several years ago, and he had to go in the attic to remove the old one. Then he closed the attic ladder and went back to the bathroom to find Stripes looking down at him through the hole.
This is soo cute and absolutely priceless. I read the headline and thought this will be good, read the story and was thinking, oh no what has Mike come up with this time? I love scrolling down, doing the slow reveal to the picture and hovertext, and he has come up with other WINNER! Bravo Mike! Plus I love the back story.
Retro circular bed. Love this. ?
Upcycling at its best.
Hee Hee Hee! When I cannot see my Kitty, I already know that she will be sleeping peacefully on any dark-colored item of clothing left unguarded. We spend a lot of time defuzzing or washing dark clothes – after washing and drying, the washing machine needs a good wipe and the dryer’s lint cacther has to be cleaned out right away… Kitty is lucky she’s so darn cute. 🙂
If I were that person, I would start storing my oven mitts or old tea towels in my wok.
This cat obviously needs a box!
I’m a model, you know what I mean
And I do my little turn on the catwok
Yeah, on the catwok, on the catwok, yeah
I do my little turn on the catwok
