From the Renaissance, through the Impressionist school and into the modern era, the world of art has suffered for lack of one thing: Cats. To right this centuries-old wrong, a team of digital Rembrandts have created Fat Cat Art, classic paintings improved by cats.
Via Sad and Useless.
My favorite art movement! Your hovertexts cost me another keyboard, Mike.
Big Fat Orange Cats! Aaaaaahhh . . . that’s heaven.
Oh I love the Nighthawks one so much! I saw some of these in a list elsewhere, and the way that other list was composed, I saw the title Nighthawks before scrolling down for the picture. I was expecting the cat to be sitting on a stool or something, normally proportioned to the people. I cackled with glee upon seeing the giant kitty. I want a framed copy of that one.
Reminds me of Dav Pilkey’s _Kat Kong_!
I always believed that God would be a nose booper. Yet there he is, going in for the tailio boop. A crisis of faith….
Mmm, that first cat is positively Rubenesque. For some reason I am reminded of an odalisque – not Modigliani’s, though; more along the lines of Goya’s La Maja (¿Gata?) Desnuda or the Renaissance masters…
I believe they’re all the same cat. But, you know, some angles are more flattering than others . . . .
The fourth picture gives a new meaning to snack bar.
Also it reminds me of the doll house scene in The Incredible Shrinking Man.

Not the photo I was looking for and it didn’t embed and I can’t edit (stupid old computer at work).
Did you mean this image?
Yessssss!
Thank you!
But where is kitty painted on black velvet? You know, the kind with big, sad eyes and maybe a single year; now that would be real art! (That or a clown cat!)
Elvis cat would be funny.
Wow, they did a wonderful job adding the cat to “Christina’s World” (3rd pic).
(Editing to add) – and the Edit feature is restored – thank you Mike!
