Maru doesn’t just crave boxes. Sometimes he likes to mix it up a little. But his chances of squeezing himself into a floof salad don’t exactly bowl us over.

Maru’s motto is not “If it fits I sit” he will try to sit in anything, even a box not big enough for his feet.?
I’ve never seen Maru fail to wedge himself into a container. He looks sad about it. I feel sad about it. I think he cast a reproachful look,

I think he looks sad too. He really wants to get in there but the bowl won’t cooperate.

Looks like a cereal bowl more than a mixing bowl. No wonder His Girthness won’t fit.
At some point he looks up at his human like he’s thinking: Why you put it on floor if I can’t fit?
I agree. “We’ve got a deal. We’ve always had a deal. Our deal has worked for both of us. You put stuff on the floor, I get into it, you take pictures of it, we become famous. Our deal is that you put stuff on the floor that I CAN GET INTO. This is not our deal. I’m this close to calling my agent.”
I think Maru is agoraphobic (fear of open spaces). Maybe that’s why he seems unhappy here. Still too open for him.

While most of the others feel Maru is expressing sadness, I see him practicing his disapproving bunny face.
Yes! Some baleful glances being tossed towards his human. “We are not amused.”
Since it clearly isn’t “If I fits, I sits,” maybe he needs to go with “If I don’t overflow, you can’t say no.”
