(OK, just stay calm here… You’re in water, you’re moister than usual, but that’s all right, you can handle this… There’s other dogs doing dog things, but you’re a dog too so you blend in, this is good. It’s a bit loud, lots of barking, but you’re coping…)
(Can’t see video? Alternate copy in the comments, or try Facebook.)
and please for the love of Pete, get me the heck outta here!
Awwww, poor little dear! He looks so anxious! (What an awesome doggie day camp or kennel that is!!!!)
(please nobody pee, please nobody pee, please nobody pee…)
HAH! I think the doggie is just mesmerized by something – maybe there’s a TV and there’s a game or something – I’ve seen that look.
I’m thinking he’s waiting for a command that it’s okay to get out now!
I am seeing text, but no picture or link.Using chrome on xp.
I’m with you, no picture here but I can see it on Facebook. Weird and I’m using Firefox. Anywhooo, adorable photo and I really feel for the puppy. Maybe if the cabana boy brings him a drink with a little umbrella, he’ll relax a little.
And no olives! You call this a resort? You people can’t even get a drink order right! π
LOL. “It was a run by fruiting, dear. Some angry member of the kitchen staff, did you not tip them?”
HA! One of my favorite lines from that movie! Makes me chortle every time.? (btw, that is the only movie I’ve seen that is better than the book!)
But Chrome no longer supports XP.
I think Google has merely stopped updating or providing tech support for Chrome on that platform. The software should still work on XP, though.
Here’s a copy of the video at YouTube. The video quality is slightly poorer, but it’s the same action.

Poor baby, looks terrified, he clearly is hoping that SOMEONE will rescue him soon. He definitely is not a water-loving dog. I can relate… if I wondered accidentally in the deeper part of the pool, I would be standing just like him, but making much more noisy requests for help…. π
Here’s the strange thing: This dog is a regular customer at the resort, because they have more videos of her doing this exact same thing. In another video, a second dog seems to be joining in, staring straight ahead.
He’s treading water until the darn ball is thrown but I like to giggle at the social anxiety bent you threw at it. π
I think you’re right FKAwaldenpond, dog looks like human is holding something delicious or fun.
Hey FKAWaldenpond – any relation to FKA Twigs? ?
Morning Julie, alas no. I quite like her– she is incredibly talented. π
“Pleaseeee Sir, May I have more baaaalllll.”
It’s ok, I read that he was waiting for someone to throw a ball. So he’s not unhappy, he’s just SUPER focused on that ball, and he’s ready to get it!!
Yes! That’s what I’m seeing too. Someone throw the dang ball already!
Those repeated anxious licks. “I DON’T BELONG HEEEEEEEERE!!!”
Bless his T-Rex looking heart! Somebody wrap him in a towel and take him for ice cream.
Throw the ball now?
Now?
Throw the ball now?
Now?
I’m waitinnnnnng……
I thought bacon or peeing in the pool. Little licks say bacon.
Is this heaven? Would be for me! Are the Chihuahuas in the kiddie pool?
Haha! When I was in middle school I worked at the summer camp at the preschool my aunt’s friend ran. They had a little inground pool that was only about 6 inches deep. It was meant for 3- to 5-year-olds but it’d be perfect for Chihuahuas!
That would be awesome. With little swim caps and water wings.
?
Exactly!!
??β€οΈβοΈ
…and air-swimming. Perfect!
I couldn’t find any Chis in swim caps and/or water wings. (Lots of other breeds in swim caps, though.)
But I did find a Chi on a swim cap:
“Whaddya mean, I’m a retriever? I’m supposed to retrieve stuff from the Water?? You’re kidding, right? Right?”
“…and the Dog Paddle? Seriously, that’s a thing?”
NMTOM’s hilarious commentary aside, she is ok. From the FB page: She is a Chesapeake Retriever, and she is waiting to retrieve. Her name is Beya. According to owners of her breed she is on point for whatever she is waiting to retrieve in the camera person’s hand.
Aw I’m glad she’s okay.
That dog is frightened and he is not enjoying that situation one bit!
Hi, it’s good to be concerned, but we think the dog was fine. The Facebook page for the facility said that the dog was waiting to interact with someone off camera. Here’s what they say: “She is a Chesapeake Retriever, and she is waiting to retrieve. Her name is Beya. According to owners of her breed she is on point for whatever she is waiting to retrieve in the camera personβs hand.”
Naughty dog is peeing in the pool. And we caught him.
hee hee hee! Welcome to my site, friend! Great to have you! π
That’s what I look like at parties! An introvert caught in the headlights of others’ exuberance.
Me too. On our way down to get lunch yesterday my coworker referred to my “anti-social tablet” (I bring my tablet to read). I said, “I’m not anti-social, I’m an introvert. There’s a difference!”
I was thinking exactly the same thing: an introvert in a party!
Basically this is me when I’m out in public. Stay calm Carol…you got this…just act cool…don’t draw attention to yourself.
