Look, there’s been a misunderstanding:ย When I voted “Leave” I thought that meant “leave things just the way they are”! I didn’t think anything bad would happen! I love you guys, honestly I do! Best two out of three, then?

Uproarious guffawing at this end! And the hover! HAH!!!!
๐ ๐ It was the hover that got me into double grin mode… as I need to move out my absolute grumpy black tree frog mode re this head-shaking situation.
The comedy triumvirate of Noah, Wilmore, and Colbert did SO many variations on Brexit last night, it was awesome in the best sense of the word.
Up the pool without a paddle ๐ ๐
I’m in the UK, the vote was close 48/52. But many regions/cities strongly for and others strongly against. I’ve never known the country so divided and full of hate for each other. It’s terrible times here.
Good post though
I think we’re feeling that way here, too, and we can only stay involved, do our best, and hope the pendulum swings the other way sooner rather than later.
I totally understand SCOOBIESNACKS, we have been through two referendums here in Quรฉbec to separate from the rest of Canada. The first one in 1980 was 59.56% stay to 40,44% leave but the second one in 1995 was very close 50.58% stay to 49.42 leave and it got nasty and scared a lot of people both English and French. Since then the notion of separation has not gone away completely but it is not very popular anymore.
Scoobiesnacks, I am so sorry your country is experiencing such a difficult time. I visited England many years ago and have wonderful memories of the place and the people. Seems like the world in general is in a state of upheaval now. But maybe that has to happen in order for us to grow, learn, and move on. In the meantime, we have havens like this place to see us through!?
Amen! Thank you NTMTOM. No pressure!!!?
Oh Scoobiesnacks, you have my total sympathy. Although the news broadcasts here tended to call it a clear win for the leave vote, to my mind it was really a tie – half wanted to leave and half wanted to stay. The numbers were so close. Yes, I understand one side had the majority, but I didn’t consider it a “win” for that side. I don’t have any answers (ask Trump, I’m sure he thinks he knows).
I just wish the best for our British and UK friends. We are one planet.
Hear hear!
I don’t know why something this important was put up as a popular vote – the least they should’ve done was require a 75% majority or something of that nature.
I agree with the 75% idea. Seems like it should be an overwhelming majority for such an impactful event. ?? I love England, I love the British people. I was lucky to visit when I was in college, and have always been an anglophile.? It’s sad this issue has so divided the country, Scoobiesnacks. You have my deepest sympathy and best wishes.?
Having a stupid moment. What’s this about?
It’s about the recent news of “Brexit,” the referendum vote to remove the UK from the European Union. According to the news, some who voted to leave are now regretting their decision.
Regrexit…and the expression on that cat’s face is IDENTICAL to mine when I heard the result.
Yuppers, me too Alice. *sigh*
I think the cat is unhappy. I am unsure if that is cute.
I agree, the cat looks upset.
Dat face!
