When I went to school I was taught by nuns and when we raised our hands and felt overwhelmingly certain of the answer, as these little guys are doing, we’d cry, “Stir, Stir…” ( for those scratching their heads, it was a shortened form of “Sister, Sister” which is what we called the nuns. Sister Joseph Marie, Sister James Marian, etc.)
You had nice nuns, we were not allowed to make sounds went we raised our hands when I went to school at a catholic convent.
